Accusations abound in rezoning request

A few of the Old buisness have tried to revamp but the council has said NO, you have to tear down and rebuild to City Standards. This is part of the Vision. It is called Comprehensive Plan. I do not think it is fair to business owners. Is this same rule going to apply to homeowners whom might have a fire and have to tear down and rebuild? Seidensticker and his property are not involved in this rezone and there is no conflict. Sharp and Carter just want this rezone go through, guess what IMO if Eric votes NO, the Mayor will Veto anyway. This rezone will happen either way it goes because it is all about the money and economic cleansing.  (Oct 11, 2007 | post #25)

Brainard has a choice, just because the other Mayors do it, does not means he has too! Sending a developer into a neighorhood and have them go around and ask homeowners to sell their home is just as bad. You can honestly sit there and say " He cannot say NO! I am all for those who want to sell their home but let it be their choice and stop the bullying tactics to get it!  (Sep 30, 2007 | post #162)

In order to make changes to Eminent domain you must write not only you State Legislatures but all the congressmen who agreed to make that change in the Constitution. I have spent more than two years researching and it makes me sick of what our offcials have done to us all for the sake of developement and money!  (Sep 30, 2007 | post #153)

I grew up in a home and my parents lived in that home for 47 years, My husband parents are still living in their first home that has been going on 52 years, Now my family and I have lived in our home 13 years. Our house is our home, we work hard to take care of it and retire in it just like our parents. Jim sounds like one of those "throw away" generations.  (Sep 27, 2007 | post #124)

It just not carmel who spending is out of control even Mitch's office is doing the same. Governemnt spending needs to slow down. Have you seen how many house's/Condo/townhomes that are for sale in Carmel? Where are the jobs? It's time to eliminate the CRC.  (Sep 27, 2007 | post #10)
