Obama bypasses Congress on DREAM Act, stops deporting you...

Wow! Obama is finally keeping some of his promises. He's finally showing some signs of the guy I thought I was voting for. Now if he would only keep the promise of going after the fraudulent crooks that run the banks. Talk about sucking the system dry.  (Jun 16, 2012 | post #528)

I support both. With option B who would oversee the hiring incentives? Option B could do both hire more federal employees to oversee the new programs and stimulate more private business hiring. If that's the case B would be better in the long run.  (Jun 14, 2012 | post #302)

I think the reasoning behind hiring more government workers to increase revenue is that they would spend the money and that would increase demand then businesses would buy more products and then producers will increase production then both would hire employees to keep up with demand. That's why I believe it's better in the long run to give more money to the people than corporations. The bottom up theory instead of the trickle down theory if you will. The taxpayer money that the government used to bail out the banks instead of letting them go under should have gone back to the taxpayers to pay down or pay off their mortgages. That way the banks would get back some of their investments and the citizens would then have more than enough money to get the economy up and running again. That could have worked worldwide. But instead our money went back to their buddies to invest in bonuses and golden parachutes. And yes the government should stop the war on drugs and protect our borders I agree with that 100%.  (Jun 13, 2012 | post #300)

Both parties had a huge turnout of voters. I thought they voted for the wrong candidate but was proud that the voters took this serious enough to turn off the T.V. to go out and vote. I know the Republicans had a larger turn out but they had a better ground game with plenty of money to spare. That was the difference. Money buys elections. Plain and simple.  (Jun 12, 2012 | post #287)

This may shock you but I do agree with almost everything you suggested. Here's some more food for thought. Personally I think the government should also do away with the Bush tax cuts because it's only increased the deficit without creating enough jobs to spur the economy. I've heard businesses are sitting on trillions of dollars and are not willing to invest it back into America because on uncertainty. So give them certainty let the Bush tax cuts expire, all of them, and pass the health care bill. My reasoning is right or wrong is the fact that if the so called 1% haven't invested their money for all these years is because they don't have a place to invest it. Tell me, going along with your theme which I agree with, that the wealthy want to make more money. Where do they invest it? China is going down and Europe is in dire straights. America is still the best economy in the world to invest in. The wealthy are trying to milk this recession for all it's worth. If Congress would start doing their job which all of us taxpayers are paying for and start investing in America with a infrastructure bill, for an example, the wealthy would jump on the bandwagon because it would show them that congress is serious about getting America to grow again.  (Jun 12, 2012 | post #286)

The problem with asking people for 50% upfront is they don't have the 50%. So what would the doctors do if some child was chocking on something? Tell the parents "to come back when they have the money"? There's plenty of other examples I could use considering this is a emergency room after all. The "Real" people your talking about is the big out of state money interests. This is just another example of big money buying elections. Big money must be eliminated in elections to bring back true democracy. I have talked with marijuana smokers and that was the reason they told me so I'll take their word on that issue. Both parties are guilty of supporting their own pet interests. So I'll assume that was your point and not just blaming just the democrats. Right? I was personally against extending the payroll tax cuts and for that matter the Bush tax cuts. And your exactly right the government, democrats and the republicans, should never have bailed out the banks they were the head of the snake that brought this country to it's knees with a big leg up from our politicians. The rich have profited in this recession when the middle class ,whats left of it that is, is struggling to keep afloat. So where do you go to get more revenue? The poor I assume.  (Jun 11, 2012 | post #278)

And that surprises you? Why pay for something when you can just go to any emergency room and get treatment for free? And I thought Conservatives were for personal responsibility? Conservatives hate Obama so much they would rather shoot themselves in the foot rather than to give him and our country a victory. Taxpayers get screwed when people don't pay for their own insurance. Do you get it now. Also, the less people that get insurance reduces the pool that health care providers can draw from which increases premiums. So we get hit by a double whammy, higher taxes to pay for the uninsured and higher premiums by the reduced pool of participants. Conservatives are such hypocrites. Do you know why the legalization of marijuana failed in California? Because people can buy it cheaper than to have government start taxing the sale of it.  (Jun 8, 2012 | post #241)

We all should celebrate the fact that the super rich now control our country. See you in the bread lines. Of course only if the rich throws us a few crumbs here and there that is. The rich will design a new flag with the dollar sign as the new symbol. Start practicing being on your knees and bowing down to our new leaders who only have their own self interests at heart. Way to go people of Wisconsin I'll be laughing when you start whining about how little you get paid. Please don't move to my state where you lack the courage to stand up for yourselves.  (Jun 7, 2012 | post #203)

Why Won't Mitt Romney Disavow Birther Donald Trump?

In Florida, Romney trashes Obama on economy

I didn't know Warren Buffet was running for President of the United States. Thanks for the update because now I won't vote for such a back stabber that makes money on pillaging peoples health care and pensions like your esteemed Mitt Romney does. They must need that extra cash to add to their millions and billions while us common citizens that do pay their taxes suffer. Call me a moron if you like but unlike Romney I still believe in our country.  (May 23, 2012 | post #282)
