Alleged Shooting Death in New Orleans

What! A shooting in New orleans? Say it isn't so! I never heard of such a thing! It's a damn shame the way that east N.O. has gone down the toilet. Back in the late 60's and 70's Village de Lest was a wonderfull subdivision. Every one knew everyone else the park/ballfield by De Bore' elementary school was the hub of activity with the VDL Falcons ( NORD) and parent running the consession stands. You could walk around at night and not worry. Hell from what I can recall if any parent wanted to know where their kid was all they had to do is call Ma Gale's house and she knew where to find them LOL! Wonder what happened to every one Dennis points/ Harold White/ Curtiss Paulina/ the Moncada's/ Jay Price/ Phil Brian and Joe morehouse/ Dennis Knoblauch/ Pat, Kevin and Gale ( RIP Barrett Gale) Danny Gauthier/ Danny and dale Smith/ Chew-Bear the list goes on. Let's look at the big picture here, okay the parents are idiots but to remove children because of their name? At what point do you want big brother from infringing on your rights - to tell you what name you can give your child? Adolf is a very common name in the barvarian/Austrian region in europe and their are a great number of people that still possess the last name Hitler. AshipGirl, Your words are kind and comforting but I have no doubt that anyone with the same background in the same situation would have acted in the same manor.It was not the efforts of one but the concerted efforts of the system from the husband to the layperson responder,911 and the Fire dept and EMS ( Shippensburg) ALS ( Advanced Life Support provider/ Paramedic (West Shore) and the aero medical response helicopter and crew (Life Lion from Hershey Trauma Center) that came together that gave at least a small to nil chance of a positive outcome which wasn't to be. All are to be commended for the efforts put forth on this tragic event as all resorces were put into motion as it is every day of every month of every year. No it was not I that transported Mr.Pieroni to the hospital but members of the EMS/Fire crew. I spoke breifly tonight with the ALS provider about the incident, very tragic, my heart and thoughts are with Mr.Pieroni and his family. I wish there could have been more we could have done. Please except my condolences and heartfelt sorrow in this difficult time. Although I do not work in this Fire/EMS community everyone came together and worked as a well oiled machine and in unison in the rapid care and transport of Mrs. Pieroni. Time was not on our side. Kristen, At no time did Mrs. Pieroni go into cardiac arrest, she did have agonal respirations with a pulse. Ventilations were assisted as her respiratory rate was only 6 and shallow at best.I know this because I am the one that preformed this until EMS arrived. I was on my way to Rhode island from Fayetteville,Pa and was going NB on I-81 and crossed the median in my Dodge Caravan. I was the one in the HD shirt, jeans and snake skin boots. I am a Maryland Paramedic that just happened to be at the right place at the right time.  (Sep 26, 2008 | post #29)
