The point is moot. The "system" cannot allow the trial to move too far forward because of a minimum of two major factors, (there are others, but ther are two 1000lb gorillas in the room that cannot be allowed to walk free); 1. If the trial moves forward and there is any serious question of Obama's qualification to hold the office, it would paralyze the government at all levels. All executive orders would be subject to question... all appointments would be subject to question... any international agreements agreed to by this administration would be subject to question. The Federal government would have a very difficult time maintaining credibility either domestically or internationally. I would imagine that our friendly creditor nations, (like the Saudis and the Chinese) would not take terribly kindly to that as it would also affect our currency's stability, (rogue states have a problem getting credit). 2. If the trial proceeds and Obama is found NOT to be qualified to hold office, the scenario is even worse. There would then, by law, not be a legitimate government of the United States. There wouyld be no authority to order any members of the armed forces to take any action to defend our republic. The entire administration, (Vice-President on down), would lack legal authority due to being chosen-appointed-h ired by a President legally shown ineligible to hold office. It would be a crisis beyond comprehension. I do not believe that we will ever have a complete answer to whether or not Barack H. Obama is a natural-born citizen of the United States, but in a larger sense, the question will not... cannot be adjudicated without bringing this republic down.  (Saturday Nov 21 | post #275)

Now we have a little insight into why Obama said to not jump to conclusions about Nidal Hasan and why Congressmen were not briefed before the press leak. This murdering Muslim Terrorist who killed and wounded the soldiers and civilians at Ft Hood, Texas was an advisor to Obama's Homeland Security team. Another Obama nominee has tax problems!

A congressional report says Obama's nominee for undersecretary of the Treasury for international affairs, Lael Brainard, was late in paying real estate taxes in 2005, 2006 and 2007. The report by the Senate Finance Committee staff also challenges the accuracy of a deduction Brainard claimed for running an office from her home. The challenge led Brainard to reduce the deduction on her 2008 return. The committee's top Republican is unhappy that the committee staff had to submit 10 sets of questions to Brainard before getting complete information about the discrepancies.
