Governor signs water bill at Friant Dam
~~!~~ The DEBT SERVICE (Bond/Loan Payments) for the $11.1 Billion Dolar Bond will be; $809,300,000 per YEAR ... Ten Million here and twenty million there, and pretty soon you talking about BIG Buck$. ~~~ EXCERPT ... "Opponents of the bond said the package is ill-timed. “We can’t justify spending billions on dams that only benefit a few — especially in today’s fiscal climate,” said Jim Metropulos, a Sierra Club California lobbyist. “We have a water crisis today. This proposed bond wastes $3 billion on projects that will take decades to build before producing a single drop of water.” At its peak, the bond would cost the state up to $809.3 million in annual debt service, assuming a 30-year payment schedule, according to the nonpartisan Legislative Analyst’s Office." ~~~ [[ I am currently researching data from CA DWR regarding the "real cost" of a dam at Temerance Flat ... preliminary data indicates that the "real cost" is closer to $7 Billion, NOT $3 Billion. An 11 BILLION dollars bill during this economy, when being voted on by the entire state, is going to get dumped on it's ear. This is the old "look, I'm doing something" routine. The Gov knows this isn't going to pass, and knows he hasn't the ability to change the legislature. What is the executive branch doing deflecting the blame from the legislators who have opted for feel good socialist programs over real issues like water. There is danger lurking in the response to this. Any thought of giving Sacramento power over how many children you can have is tyrannical. The economy, when left alone, takes care of itself, alone. The lack of water has resulted in (1) damage to the farming industry that will take years to reverse, and (2) exposure of the absurdity of the pseudo-science and power of the Federal government. Wouldn't it be wonderful if the citizen would stop expecting and empowering government to "fix" things? ~~!~~ (9 hrs ago | post #1)

Interesting thought "On2you" ... Since when is being a "reporter " bad? Reporting is an honorable way to make a living, which requires skillful researching and analysis of interesting situations and people. The researching and writing about documented facts is not being "anti-lopez " (your phrase). An example of "anti-somebod y" would be the statements from ORANGE COVE MAN about the so-called "Hill cabal". They are nothing but cheap verbal shots ... but then OCM had excellent guidance from his mentor and the old Lopez appointed City Council -- they were great at Cheap Shotz at nearly every Council meeting. ~~~ "diggin up dirt" This statement indicates that YOU believe there is "dirt" available on the Lopez family. "dirt" being defined as negative or wrong-doing emanating from the Lopez family members. Is that correct "On2you" ... remember these are your words, not mine. ~~!~~ (Monday | post #39)
Sheriff Raids Victor Lopez, Jr’s residence Nov 4
AAaaahhh, yes TRUTH ... hang in there Mario ... would you recognize the TRUTH? Can you accept REALITY? One of the most interesting parts of the "MEDIA ADVISORY" from the Sheriff's Department was; "Further arrests may be made as more evidence regarding the identity theft investigation is discovered." Are YOU concerned about WHO may be next? I'm sure that the community will continue to encourage the Sheriff's Detectives to "follow this trail to the HIGHEST levels and the LOWEST level of persons involved!!" ~~~ Mario you are once again displaying your ignorance of law enforcement procedures with the statement; "... ANOTHER FLOP FROM THE HILL CABAL!!!!!!!!!!! " It is obvious to most reasonable people that the Fresno County Sheriff would not involve multiple police agencies (about 15 or more officers and evidence tech's), 12 vehicles and ADDITIONAL resources, in serving two search warrants that they did not expect to produce positive results -- they did - a suspect(s) was arrested and jailed. ~~~ I'm glad you used the word "OPINION " ... as you seldom ever provide any documented, or documentable, FACTS to justify your OPINIONS!! ~~!~~ (Monday | post #2)

Petition to investigate Victor P. Lopez regarding grant money.

Could that be one person using a variety of names? )) ~~~ ".. he's still there, getting funding for our city." Please document ONE GRANT that Victor Lopez (mayor) has ever completed and processed for the City of Orange Cove?? There is, and has for five years, been a Grant Writer on the City payroll, that is paid $5,850/month (Independent Contractor - lives in a Fresno P.O. Box) + the cost of various trips with Victor Lopez. ~~~ "No one has run against him, no one will and until he retires...it'll remain the same." NOT TRUE - in 2006 there were two men that challenged Lopez for the title of Mayor. The woman that prevailed in the City Council seat obtained nearly as many votes as Lopez "obtained " - she was only 18 fewer votes than Lopez. In 2008 TWO NEW COUNCIL MEMBERS were elected by overwhelming majorities that broke ALL RECORDS for Vote Count in Orange Cove. They contested against the Lopez appointees on the "old" City Council, and were successful in the election, competing with the broken down Lopez political machine. One year from this week he will be the EX-Mayor of Orange Cove … ~~~ "Lay-off the man, I do not see any of you imbeciles stepping up to the plate." Four political newbies stepped up to the plate for the two special District elections in 2009. THREE prevailed in the election, and one may be appointed to fill an anticipated vacancy. Not bad for folks you call "imbeciles " ... and none have had their homes raided and search warrants served. ~~~ Have a nice weekend!! ~~!~~ (Friday Nov 6 | post #70)

~~!~~ Interesting dialogue "Theresa " ... your implied support and extolling the virtues of Victor Lopez (the daddy) is admirable. ~~~ "Mr. Thompson is up to his dirty business again." I was sitting in a cafe downtown drinking coffee when some people came in and were excitedly talking about Police and Sheriff's cars at Victor Jr's house. It sounded interesting, I reacted and headed west, and started taking pictures upon arrival at the residence where the Sheriff, M.A.G.E.C., et. al., where I learned later, were serving search warrant(s) at the Lopez residence. The raid started about 08:00 and I did not arrive until about 09:15. Our local newspaper had already been there and departed before my arrival. So, "Theresa ", how does that become "his [Thompson] dirty business"??? ~~~ I posted the following elsewhere on this Forum in response another of your posts; ~~~ "Theresa " is sorta correct "ledesma " ... let's be PC here ... Victor Lopez JR was arrested for and was in jail for less than 24 hours, for; [] ALLEGEDLY using/selling/dist ributing DRUGS, [] ALLEGEDLY holding/selling STOLEN PROPERTY, [] ALLEGEDLY embezzling from the City of ORANGE COVE [] ALLEGEDLY committing IDENTITY THEFT [] ALLEGEDLY in violation of whatever else they (Sheriff and M.A.G.E.C. and the DRUG SNIFFING K-9) found while executing the two search warrants. Just because three people were handcuffed and questioned in the front yard of VICTOR LOPEZ JR's residence, that he "rents" from his daddy's friend PAUL RODRIGUEZ, does not automatically make him or anyone else that resides in the residence, GUILTY. He will ONCE AGAIN have his day in COURT to defend against charges, when and if the Sheriff, District Attorney, et. al., choose to file. That’s one of the many things GREAT about AMERICA … equal opportunity and shared responsibility. ~~!~~ (Thursday Nov 5 | post #5)
