Odd Things in Gloucester County
All kidding aside, I didn't realize there was someone in the car while it was parked there. It is odd that Al's didn't know who it was and didn't seem to care. Had it been my business, I would have asked him who he was and given any info to the sheriffs office, including License plate and description. I have done this already on several other occasions when things didn't feel right in my shopping center. What's this about a plane crash? Any other info on it? (Oct 7, 2009 | post #10)
Emotional testimony in trial of man accused of sex assault on 10-year-old
I have pet rats, they make wonderful pets and I would never subject them to that. Plus, in reality, they would not chew on him, they would simply lick the peanut butter off, it make tickle, but certainly won't hurt. Now, what would be painful, and work would be to soak his wang in chicken broth and then tie him out in the woods and let the wild animals come along and chew it off. Or better yet, dip it in honey and tie him to the ground near an ant-hill. That would hurt. BTW, he was my 9th grade health teacher, I always thought it was wierd how he would hang out more with some students than others. I think personally he was sleeping with them willfully, and then took things too far with this victim when he refused his advances. Just a personal opinion and a personal observation. I am not making any accusations or judgements. (Oct 3, 2009 | post #35)
Odd Things in Gloucester County
I travel down hickory fork every now and then and I did notice that car sitting there for several days. It is very odd for a car to sit at a repair shop for several days. I don't know for sure, but I think there may be a gateway to other universes in there and the owner was on a universe traveling vacation, and maybe he got lost in in an alternate universe. Or maybe, the car was being repaired and the special part needed took a few days to arrive. As far as the new construction at the point, I think it may be an alien landing strip, or just a new business coming into Gloucester. God knows why, Gloucester seems to be very difficult to run a business in. (Oct 3, 2009 | post #2)
I believe that she truly believes what she did was right. And for cleaning up the county, they may have been. But, the way she did it, by holding secret meetings out of the view of the public, and without all board members present, was wrong. I won't go so far as to compare her with tyrants like Hitler or Stalin, all she did was fire a few people not killed millions, but the way she went about doing what she did is the same method used by many tyrants. The way our government was set up is cumbersome and slow, but it is honest (not the politicians), and generally comes up with the best solutions. What she did is not the way she should have done it, and I fear that, if given the chance, she will do it again. Looking at her track record, she sued the school board and won a much larger sum than she should have because she missed work, she purposefully and vindictively went after the 40 petitioners, and she expects the tax payers to pay her legal bills. Was it fair what happened to her? maybe, maybe not, but life ain't fair, and to expect us taxpayers to pay her legal bills (keep in mind, she had other choices available for attorneys, and yet she went with some of the most expensive) is wrong for any politician to do if they expect to be re-elected. Clean record for Ressler and Altemus?
While I agree with you that a rat has more integrity than TA, I would like to point out that rats are very intelligent, loving, and caring pack animals. In the wild, the alpha rats always eat last. They allow the pregnant and nursing mothers to eat first, then the young males in charge of defending the pack. As far as pets, they make much better pets than any of the other "pocket pets" out there. They do not generally bite, they bond with you very strongly and give you lots of love and affection. Not only that, but they are very honest and quick to forgive, even when you accidently step on their tails. So, to be fair to rats everywhere, rats have more integrity than most humans, if not all. So, think about it, while I agree with your statement, please don't compare TA to rats, it is a cruel disparagement to rats everywhere. (Oct 3, 2009 | post #74)
Spay-neuter clinic opens in Gloucester
I think the point of her argument is that it should not be assumed that a low income earner is also a welfare recepient. Her points are very valid, and I agree with them whole-heartedly. Pets make your life richer, and as for "wasting money on pet care when it should go to food and healthcare", I beg to differ. Pets help to relieve stress, and being from a low income family, there is a lot of stress when you don't know if your next paycheck will cover your bills. A less stressed person is generally a healthier person. So in some ways, pets count as healthcare. I would also like to point out that there are many pets that would fit almost any income level. One of my personal favorites is a fancy rat. They make wonderful pets, don't require expensive supplies, and are very affectionate. many people say they are almost like dogs that can sit on your shoulder. Rats are pack animals and will bond with their human and give them lots of love. Of course, there are many other pets that are also well suited for low income homes, but this is just my personal favorite. I do almost agree with welfare recepients not owning pets, but I think there are much worse things to spend welfare money on. IMHO, welfare should be cut back so that those on it are forced to work for their luxuries. Especially those that able bodied but un-willing. (Oct 3, 2009 | post #21)

First, physical castration would do no good. He may not be able to use his appendage, but there are plenty of substitutes out there that he could use. Chemical castration may work, since it helps to curb the sexual feelings one would have. But it does nothing to curb violent tendencies, and may even exacerbate them. The only good way to insure he is no longer a threat to society is to remove him permanantly, by death. But since this is not a capital crime, and he may be able to use the temporarily insane plea, he will not be sentenced to death. He willmost likely get a few years either in prison or in drug rehab, then be considered a decent citien again. I know this would never happen, but the best punishment would be to superglue his appendage to an anvil, place him in a barn full of loose straw, give him a dull butter knife and light the barn on fire. Here's a question for all those supporting TA here in forumland; why haven't you donated more to her re-election campaign? According to the article in the DP, Borden has raised 9 times as much as TA. What gives? You believe in her and support her fully, until it comes time to pay up. I would say that she should drop out and save herself the embarrassment of losing, but that's not her style. With her holier than thou attitude and condescending personality, I bet she still thinks she has a shot. (Sep 16, 2009 | post #54)
Money pours into Carter Borden's campaign in Gloucester
Where are all of TA's mouthpieces and supporters? Why haven't they donated much to her re-election campaign? TA could just save herself the embarrasment of losing and drop out, but that isn't her style. She probably still believes she might win. (Sep 16, 2009 | post #1)
Where is the best place to purchase good pet supplies in Gloucester...
I have multiple pets, and have been burned by online dealers. It seems like almost every time I order something online it comes in broken or missing peices. I actually received an item once that still had the return slip in it from the last customer that returned it! Then I was told over the phone that I would have to pay return shipping and a 15% restocking fee, even though it was missing pieces. As far as big box stores, I'm sorry, but most of the people working there don't know anything about pets. What meager info they can provide generally pertains to dogs and cats. Go ahead, ask them about reptiles, deer in the headlights, for sure. The pet castle is by far the absolute best store in the area. Their selection is wonderful, and the help and advice is great. Where is the best place to go for pet supplies in Gloucester Virgina?
The Pet Castle is by far the best place for pet supplies. They have the best selection on the entire mid-pen. I go there all the time, and can spend hours in their reptile room. No other pet store even comes close to the pet castle. (Sep 14, 2009 | post #1)
Clean record for Ressler and Altemus?
Don't worry, TA is running as an independent, ghosts only vote for leftist liberals. Wait, didn't she hold a secret government meetingout of the oversight of the public? Oh crap, that sounds rather socialist doesn't it? Just remember, ghosts and democrats vote on Wednesday. (Sep 8, 2009 | post #25)
Clean record for Ressler and Altemus?
I agree whole-heartedly. A few years ago, money was a bit tight and I needed to pay some bills. All I needed was was maybe 100 dollars. As I was laying in bed thinking, the last thought I remember was, "I really wish I had a hundred bucks". The next morning when I woke up, I eard a strange noide out in the back yard. MY YARD WAS FULL OF DEER!! So yeah, I would certainly agree with witch hunt, be careful what you wish for, and more importantly, be very specific in what you wish for. (Sep 8, 2009 | post #24)
Clean record for Ressler and Altemus?
Expunged records? They have not been found guilty in a court of law, and they will not stand trial for the crimes they allegedly did. Therefore, expunging their records is in good keeping of the law. The law has failed those of us who believed in it. When they held those secret meetings, they betrayed the trust of their constituents. A court of law did not find them guilty, so, expunge their records. One question I have regarding this, will we, the taxpayers, have to pay for th court proceedings for expungement as well? During this next election, and the ones that follow in the next few years, be sure to expunge the un-trustworthy supervisors that have betrayed our common trust. Elections resulting in losing parties have not yet been outlawed and we must use them to bend our government to our will, the Will of the People. I have been away for awhile, and will probably go away again soon, but it is nice to see that the same old players are still making the same old comments and are still trying to figure out who's who in this forum. I find it funny and just needed a chuckle today. Thanks everyone. (Sep 1, 2009 | post #15)
Local reports of tainted gas drop
At least Bush was on the right track. I say, lets blast all those muslim countries back to the stone age and steal their oil. This is the best option since people are stupid. Gas prices went up and there was all kinds of talk about alternative fuels, then prices plummeted and all that talk and research went out the window. People started buying SUVs againa and we are back where we started, since we ain't smart enough to find alternative fuels, lets be stupid and blast them muslims and steal theirs.
