You wanted a Sodom and Gomorrah racetrack, put a church through hell to locate in the old downtown, spent millions of dollars building a train station you rent out at a buck a month, and even more beautifying a downtown you have no clue how to revitalize. On top of that, you have a sick man who is the mayor's husband (lame ducks of a feather, flock together) attempting to get the one decent and civil councilman we had kicked out of town early. Funny how you managed to attend this meeting an ignore the fact that there were two rows plus of these "young people" who we want to see "involved and excited about the politics of their community" and not one of them got up to ask a question. I can't speak for Ms. Dingman, but I know the format of these Chamber candidate forums and I stepped forward to ask questions to fill in a half hours worth of time that it was supposed to run. You try to make something successful by taking positive action and you get criticized for it. Go figure. Please cast your votes for one of the other candidates. Have you been reading the posts of those young people? They can't spell, they can't think or write critically, and their ideas are simplistic. Other than that, I say the Victoria Coppes is not the same as "all" the rest of the young people. I want to see her in action to see if the council made yet one more mistake. I might just have to take some action to make sure that doesn't happen. Remember, you can either help a person succeed or let them fail without raising your hand. No one has all the answers. (Find a dictionary) It seems to me that your laws are poorly written and randomly enforced, otherwise known as discrimination which resulted in one federal lawsuit. Considering that your code enforcement officer has cited me each day for the last two weeks, I can presume that is harassment as well. You hire the unskilled, trained by the ignorant, and qualify your accusations using an attorney who bends the laws he wrote to fit the situation (a cement mixer is not a piece of construction equipment comparable to a "forklift, back **** , or bobcat") and then you expect people to respect the law or those who wrote it and/or put it in place. You should be run out of town on a rail. As I said, I will be providing you with a picture of the mixer, balloons, and my campaign sign to use in your upcoming hit piece against me. I take it you mean "share" and not "shed" although I guess you could "shed" your opinions as a snake sheds its skin. For your information, Bill Gates was not a leader but an entrepreneurial individual who happened to be in the right place at the right time. His technical expertise and family background enabled his success along with IBM's moronic decision to outsource development of an operating system. If you read any of Gates' deliberative thoughts, you will find a liberal's mind laden with guilt over his success. His ideas are not useful to the rest of us who would like to share in the rewards of a true capitalist society. Wasn't it you who told me that I had never lied to you when we were outside the chambers one evening? The problem you have with me, Mr. Smith, is you don't like my style. Your style got us fined $220,000 by the State Water Board because you and your bonehead council didn't direct your staff to take a tough approach with the Water Board. Your council didn't support its proactive citizenry until the very end of the legislative process on the water softener issue. By the way, did you lobby the Gubernator to sign the bill? All of your comments and outright hate point exactly to why I should be elected. I will provide some things that have been missing on the council for years. But this is not the topic. Coppes will succeed or fail dependent on the help we give her. That does not mean we tell her "what" to think, we need to show her "how" to think. If the city is in a shambles, it is because of the lack of leadership of the likes of Smith, Vega, Ferrero, and Courville. The worst thing (yes I realize you were educated in the public school system in Florida as your excuse for not educating yourself on spelling) is Mike Smith who believes he knows better than the rest of us what is good for us and has in fact stated exactly this at a council meeting on the subject of Dixon Downs. Your four years on the council accomplished nothing, Mike, other than your periodic and repetitive attacks on fellow councilman Steve Alexander. I guess it is easier to join the majority in attacking one person than attempting to help him be successful. Oh wait, that is your complaint about me. You are so naive and deluded. Dave Scholl has my vote too. I have a hard time voting for anyone who uses the phrase "we will just have to agree to disagree" as much as Batchelor does. The subject tonight was global warming and SB365. When confronted with the fact that global warming has been identified as a scam by scientists who aren't out to make a buck off of Gore's delusions, this is the best response Batchelor is capable of. Don't bother to investigate the science, Jack, just accept your liberal colleague's mantra. Ever study geology? Didn't think so. Jack is the problem with government. People who are uneducated, unread, unprepared, and ill informed making decisions that effect us all negatively, especially in the pocket book. At least Scholl knows what deficit spending is and doesn't confuse it with deficit budgeting. Leave Jack where he belongs: on the council as a minor player. Sorry folks but this is a poorly designed poll. There needs to be an option for voting for none of the above. It is neither a good or bad decision to give someone a chance. It is ridiculous to make her age an issue. Remember, there are kids her age in the military dieing overseas attempting to derail terrorism. Whether you believe in the fight or not, they are putting themselves on the line. I, for one, hope she is successful just to prove to all that things don't have to be done the same old way. She is not going to be a reformer, but there is nothing stopping her from being a performer. Hmm ... I sense a lot of anger here. Yes this is the real GL and not some close imitation. I have a problem with Ms. Vinegar not knowing that she doesn't live inside the city limits. It is also a problem not knowing that nothing is before LAFCO at this point in time. I know as I checked with the community development director. Unless Dan Figueroa has submitted certain documents to start the process, nothing is going on in that respect. To say or hint that this is an imminent annexation is a lie. However, I don't disagree with Ms. Vinegar that this appears to be another of the mayor's famous "setups" in that she called Coppes to "educate " her as to what to say. The obvious clue was when Courville said, "I will let her tell you in her own words." Yeah right, words you put in her mouth. Despite any and all of the concern over her actual address or residence, nothing will be done. First, you have a lying District Attorney who rented a room in Solano County to get elected while he actually lived or had his main residence in Napa County. Second, you have a city attorney who told Mike Gomez how to get around the residency requirement in order to continue on the council. As long as we have people that violate the spirit of well intentioned laws, why should any of us respect any of their laws especially ones designed to be used as methods of harassment against their opponents. If there are individuals, say former school mates of Victoria, who want to offer proof of her actual residence, let them come forward. I do not have the time or desire to set up spy networks to view both residences and come to a conclusion. While I think the council is comprised of self serving nitwits bent on bankrupting Dixon, I don't think any of the four candidates would have been a choice that couldn't be tolerated for four months. Sure there are some big issues coming up but Coppes is only one voice and one vote. After the election, there will be at least two morons who won't be able to influence her. Hopefully the "lame duck" council won't push to approve contracts with the fire and police now that Gomez, the one who was holding it up due to budget constraints, is gone. I agree with all of you who are saying to give Coppes a chance. You can either work to help her succeed or you can just criticize hoping to see her fail. She is not some arrogant jerk who has sat at the dais for 4 or 8 years, believing he knows better than all of the rest of us. She is not an egotistical power freak of a city manager rejecting all ideas but his own. Despite the outright lies and innuendoes to the contrary, I do believe in making good people successful. Unfortunately many of them change once they are able to sit on the dais. I also want to say that there is an obvious reason that Mike Smith and Steve Alexander have never supported me despite my backing them for office. It is the same reason that Courville and Batchelor fear my election. They know that I will show the citizens of Dixon exactly how their government should run and give valid factual reasons for my decisions instead of just feel good emotions.
