Deep Blue, let us please quit feeding the ego of 'I asked'. We both know that the rail was approved by a few for a few. He isn't going to get it for a few years to come. I suggest we leave him and the topic alone. He is just looking for a reason to spew and we're giving it to him. (23 hrs ago | post #190)
Everybody these days seem as though they would rather peck s--t with the chickens than tell their kids no about something. I absolutely can't understand why a person would ask for welfare in order to buy unnecessary stuff. Believe me, children grow very well without candy and sodas. (Friday | post #46)
I had enough unearmarked money to buy a present for my one grandchild and all the food for dinner, so I am ready. God has certainly rained down blessings on us this year. You have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. (Friday | post #12)

Dear God, you are like a starving dog with a bone. You won. Are you happy, now? You are not only ungracious, you are like the playground bully. One would think you had cleared the land, laid the rail, and intend to drive the train all by yourself. I repeat, YOU WON!!! Now move on. (Friday | post #182)

And I defend your right to like the rail deal. I don't, but I don't think I'm ramming that down your throat. Your side won; didn't your mama teach you to be a gracious winner? (Thursday | post #179)

Were you talking to me or DB? I still maintain that just because you like it, doesn't make it a good thing. I like Cheesecake with Strawberry topping, but my doctor tells me it isn't a good thing. Be content with the fact you like and quit trying to ram it down everybody else's throat. (Thursday | post #177)

I have no idea what you are trying to communicate here. Do you want to try that again? Did you even attend an English class? (Thursday Dec 17 | post #43)
I have read all these posts and I have to tell you, ma'am, you are making assumptions that cover everything from A to Z. Wives lose husbands everyday. They also lose children, parents, brothers and sisters. It would indeed be a chaotic place if everyone who had a lose just shut down as you said your friend did. If her child has asthma to point of being hospitalized on a regular basis and she is getting survivor benefits from Social Security, then she would certainly qualify for medicaid. It seems strange that you say she doesn't. There are many, many people, single moms and otherwise, who need and qualify for assistance. Your friend has obviously fallen prey to her own drama. She has three children, one of whom has severe medical problems. She doesn't have time to wallow in the poor pitiful me ditch. With four Social Security checks and a work check coming into her household each month, there is no reason for her to be receiving welfare benefits except that she, unlike you, doesn't like to or want to economize. I would appreciate it (since you think she needs additional help over the five checks she already has coming in) if you would supplement your friends income out of your own pocket. Mine has already been picked clean. I imagine you wouldn't be so quick to defend her lack of economy if you personally had to pay for it (and I don't mean through taxes, but from your pocket). I'm sure that means something to you, but I'm in the dark. (Saturday Dec 12 | post #2)
