I can see where you would have an interest in the Dollar staying high in relation to the Yuan but from our point of view if the Yuan were to rise, then the cost of Chinese exports would rise as well, hopefully making domestic products more desirable. Oil is traded in dollars and we have kept the value of the dollar low with low interest rates. Raising interest rates will make Chinese goods even cheaper. Bad for us but oil will be cheaper too. You should buy more dollars now before interest rates go up and become more expensive. Our interest rates won't stay this low forever. If China want to participate in a free market world economy, it needs to let it's currency float like everyone else's.  (1 hr ago | post #511)

Sorry Ray. No Chinese troops in Afghanistan. Even though China has a lot to gain from our victory there in the form of business. Censorship Irrelevant? Not hardly. But that is what I would expect from someone who has been brainwashed by a communist regime. Talking about events that have happened hundreds of years ago has no bearing on what is going on now. Let's talk about why China supports North Korea and won't stand up to Iran in sanctions on their nuclear program. If it's hip and cool it's because of American "walmart " dollars. Please encourage your government to support UN operations in the rest of the world since they are a veto holding member and also let the currency value float so the rest of the world that pays their workers a living wage can compete with your factories that pay their workers pennies per day. How about supporting the rest of the world in fighting terrorism and sending some troups from that massive military you guys are building over there instead of letting everyone else carry the weight. With China and Mexico bleeding us dry, it will be a miracle if we survive. And by the way, most Americans did not support the Iraq war and voted out the people responsible for it. An option that you don't have in China. Are you even in China? Better do a little more reading Ray. The original inhabitants of North American migrated from Europe and Asia through what is now Alaska. These people then migrated to Central and South America. No communists in China? Really? Someone should notify the world. China uses their concept of capitalism to grow rich off the rest of the world by not playing on the same field. I grant you that both counties have a sordid past when it comes to war and human rights but let's look at the present. What country just executed people for demonstrating. Hint: not the U.S. And by the way, one of the quagmires that we are in right now is in Afghanistan against terrorists that threaten the entire world including China. Kind of scary that the country that supplies us with most of the cash we need for the U.S. to function is a communist nation with a long history of human rights violations. By not allowing their currency to "float", they have flooded the world markets with cheap crap at all of the wal-marts world wide. Better learn to ride a bike and speak Chinese. Because these people would like to see a different kind of United States. One very different than the one we are trying very hard to hold on to. Mexicans and their sympathizers would really like to have their own new gov't here. A conquest of sorts where they have drained the American people of their wealth. If your governor wants to give out fake ids to illegals and terrorists, then don't be surprised when your drivers license isn't taken seriously. Right on! Mexico claimed part of the U.S. for about 15 years. Not even long enough for the inhabitants of the territory to hear about it. Santa Anna gave away half his country when he got his butt kicked fair and square at the Battle of San Jacinto. Sorry, that's the way it works. You want the real estate, then come try and take it. But the Mexican army today is even more lame than it was at San Jacinto. You want it back then come try and take it like men.
