They tried the "defective " car story. Didn't fly. The vehicle was gone over with a fine tooth comb, and no problems were present. She had also gotten into an argument with her husband at a gas station about a mile from the accident scene. She was angry, she was driving recklessly, 2 innocent children lost there lives and a 3rd has endured problems since. GUILTY AS CHARGED!!!!  (Yesterday | post #81)

You stupid A55!!! I am as white as white can be, and from the deep south to boot. I am not a racist, I judge people by their actions not the color of their skin. Take you for example, I don't like you and you're white. And if you'd brush up on your reading comprehension, you'd see that all along I have said I think the African American thing is a little much. I do though understand what these folks are saying that because they are black they originated in Africa. But I still think that if your family has been in a country for several generations, i.e. America, that makes you an American. And I think that the black race, who for decades has wanted to be equal, should stop finding ways to seperate themselves. We are white skinned, therefore we refer to ourselves as white, and I refer to those who are dark skinned as black. If they want to call themselves African American, what's it to you. For a race that does not want to be stereotyped or called names you deem insulting, you sure are quick to start name calling. Why is it when someone doesn't agree with you, they are then labeled southern ignorant rednecks?? Why is it, you automatically assume someone from the south is ignorant, a redneck or a racist?? I resent the hell out of that crap. I am from the south, and proud of it, but that doesn't make me ignorant. As for the term redneck, there are several different definitions of redneck. Yes there are some who are your typical racists. But most rednecks, are hard working, believe in God and country, and would give the shirt off their backs to help someone. Why the United States Should Nationalize Concealed Carry Laws

Glad I stumbled onto this discussion, maybe someone can help me understand. I, too feel that the 2nd Amendment gives me the right to carry a firearm, as that is what it says. Who cares whether you can see it or not? If I have to place my weapon in the glove box, secured and locked, how am I going to protect myself or anyone else in an emergency situation? We'd be dead by the time we unlock the box, remove the weapon and load it. But my question is this, WHY do I have to have a concealed weapons permit to carry my gun in my purse or wherever, when the constitution gives me the right to bear arms???  (Oct 21, 2009 | post #22)

Why doesn't where you were born and raised determine your nationality? If one was born in Africa and immigrated to the US, and became a US citizen, they would be and African-American, as a person born in Japan and immigrating to the US, and becoming a US citizen would then be a Japanese-American. I, along with my parents, grandparents, great and great-great grandparents were born and raised in the US, therefore we are AMERICANS, plain and simple. The point of most of this discussion is WHY do the blacks have to have a distinctive title? Why can't they just be blacks? As whites we've never had to change what we're called, we're whites and we've always been whites. But the blacks continuously have to change what they are to be called, and GOD forbid we don't immediately recognize their new title, we are then deemed racists. In my lifetime blacks have been called coloreds, negros, afro-americans, blacks and now, African-Americans. Where does it stop, and why is it necessary? They want to cling to this African heritage, of which they are so proud, yet none of them want to return to this majestic homeland of theirs, that they were so brutally ripped from. Why not? Is it possible that maybe the great African motherland doesn't offer the opportunities the US does? Is it possible that Africa doesn't offer affirmative action, welfare, section 8, or any of the other many "perks" the US does? How is it that the rest of the world has moved forward and industrialized, but Africa has not? Is this too blamed on slavery? I'm not a racist, I judge people based on their actions, not their skin color, but I am curious.
