Barrett tees off on local gas stations again
Maybe you should write another letter to the transcript, because home heating oil has not went down. Give Mr. Barrett a call so he could lower the heating cost. Second thought, don't do that. Every time he gets involved the prices go up. Just tell him to lower our taxes so everything would balance itself out,(simple solution). (14 min ago | post #26)
Bosley aims to save Berkshires churches
Talking about preaching. Mr. Bosley could use that advice as well. Fix the corruption in the town his lives in(instead of being a part of it). Matt 7:5 Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye. (Saturday Aug 16 | post #72)

Rape", that's exactly what would happen if we allow it. You don't have to be Catholic to love these buildings. They are our history. Talk about true art. The architectural details. These things should not be altered. We have seen them not only get altered, but destroyed purely for greed. This can't happen again. It will be up to the parishioners and the community as a whole to purchase them(minus politicians). Our tax dollars were used to purchase Notre Dame which will be art studio condos(we are still paying, and I sure did not want condos). (Saturday Aug 16 | post #69)
Bosley aims to save Berkshires churches
I agree 100%, "concerned citizen" Mr. Bosley needs to lower our property taxes, home heating and electric rates, something he has yet to perfect. Leave us to take care of our churches. (Saturday Aug 16 | post #66)
Bosley aims to save Berkshires churches
Bosley does need to worry about all taxpayers, but he does not,(even the catholics). He is too busy trying to appease our mayor's every little whim. Given pensions to felons. Ignored two assault battery charges against our mayor in three years and the list goes on and on. I don't think he really cares one iota about these churches. This is prime real estate especially in North Adams(our mayor loves prime real estate). When you see churches such as St. Stanislaus in Adams, these architectual relics personify art and need to be preserved. It will be up to the community to do this, not the greedy politicians. We have been exploited enough. (Saturday Aug 16 | post #65)

Stop the forum ??? Wouldn't mr. mayor just love that solution. (Friday Aug 15 | post #49)
Veterans' pay raise still in limbo
It is called Deception. He Say's; We pay some of the lowest residential taxes(Not True). The rest of the taxes,"we pay" are through the roof. Here is the actual comparison of what North Adams and Williamstown pays in taxes: North Adams; Residential Rates 11.57, Open Space 11.57, Commercial 28.98, Industrial 28.98, Personal Property 28.98. Williamstown; Residential Rates 11.90, Open Space 0.00, Commercial 11.90, Industrial 11.90, Personal Property 11.90 I think we have already bit the bullet, chewed the bullet and made fine art with the bullet. Maybe he needs to chew the bullet. Give up his car "WE" pay for. After all it would be for the "Good of the community". Take a little pay cut. Take care of the citizens of North Adams(not just the one's on your, buddy list). The "REAL PEOPLE" that pay,"YOUR " salary. (Friday Aug 15 | post #9)

That would be quite a few Keno tickets. Come on "updown123 " someone opposed to casino's couldn't possibly be a gambler, could he? Of course if he does buy some on occasion, he could always stop and donate to, the "parishioners ", to help our cause. (Thursday Aug 14 | post #42)
Bosley: Moratorium on church closng needed
Please don't tell me you have more then one friend that likes both politics and real estate. If you do, tell them "all" to "drool", somewhere else. (Thursday Aug 14 | post #40)
Bosley: Moratorium on church closng needed
I should have figured,"Comm enting". Your friend is drooling already. Our churches are not even closed yet, but he can't wait to,"SAVE US". Does not matter that it is a very emotion time for a lot of people. All he see's are $$$$ signs. (Thursday Aug 14 | post #37)
Veterans' pay raise still in limbo
Yes, we got a lot of scams going on here "Rightwing Crackpot" but it isn't coming from the Veterans. Give them a little more credit. Who in their right mind is going to "scam",f or a big $184.00 a year (for twenty years). By the way, their scam is not working very well because they have not received a penny yet. If your a veteran the city should pay you $184.00 too, why not. We waste $750,000 on some dumb equipment,we can afford to pay you. The FBI is visiting Boston? They should take a visit here. (Thursday Aug 14 | post #5)
Bosley: Moratorium on church closng needed
O Ye Of Little Faith, "Commenting ". We will be able to financially support these churches, because the parishioners will own them. We've done a pretty good job supporting this town, thus far. (Thursday Aug 14 | post #35)
Veterans' pay raise still in limbo
"Edison" , we have no money for common folks. Offering a Veteran $184.00 a year is a disgrace(and they haven't even got that yet). We have to save our money for lawsuits and our new endeavour real estate,(with our money). While Mr. Bosley is busy saving the churches, why doesn't he check to see how our money is being spent in this city(and who doing the spending)? We don't need to hear five years from now; "No one ever brought the subject to my attention". I'm bringing it up, right now; Mr. Bosley have you ever heard the word "CORRUPTION ", we got a lot of that going on here, Sir. (Thursday Aug 14 | post #2)
Unlimited resources? I would have, if your friend did not spend all of our money on his little hearts desires. He just got $750,000(took him a whole month),for city equipment. Does he need a new GPS for his car, we pay for? Or for his gas we pay for? But no money for the fifteen Veterans "still", after 2 years($57,000) He said we need to bite the bullet(our taxes are going up again next year, like they did this year. Great idea! Bite the bullet! While he goes on spending sprees! He needs to put his focus on "other" real estate because he is not, taking our churches. He used our tax dollars already to purchase Notre Dame, for whatever he chooses. This time it will be ours(it is ours). He may donate if he wishes, but we will not be donating to him this time. These buildings represent so much to the parishioners, it is our history. (Thursday Aug 14 | post #6)
You have wisdom "hvt", which is always refreshing. We all need to be humbled at times ,it serves to remind us what is,"really important". It tests our character and our inner strength. (Wednesday Aug 13 | post #4)
