What are your favorite memories, stories and people of Marshville?
I thank you all for sharing with us. Doesn't it just bring a smile to your face hearing, and remembering these things? This is what a community is for. To be strong in history, kind at heart, and help one another through a rough time. There will always be someone, or something that will try to break that community bond. You have to pull together as a community, work together for a solution, and support one another. Not everyone will agree on things. Yet people can agree to disagree and come to a medium. I think Marshville will over come all this negativity that has been on their shoulders lately. They will thrive and become the strong community I see it once was. All it takes is unity, a desire to bring the community closer, and a kind heart. Today is a new day. You have the choice to look at it as a new beginning and work towards a community goal, or to be bitter and play the blame game. It's all up to you. Godspeed to you Marshville. You have some very awesome people in your community. Keep the stories coming. (Wednesday Nov 25 | post #12)
What are your favorite memories, stories and people of Marshville?
Wow! See how touching stories can be? It shows how something so simple can touch someones heart, and bring warmth, where there once was a cold feeling of no hope. Thank you for sharing it with us. (Tuesday Nov 24 | post #3)
What are your favorite memories, stories and people of Marshville?
I see that there are a lot of life long residents of Marshville. I know there are a lot of good people, places, and events that have happened in this town. If you wouldn't mind, could you possibly take a moment to share a few? I am one that loves to hear about the days gone by. It gives me back the feeling of sitting on my grandfathers lap and listening and imagining things the way they used to be. Both of my grandfather's have long past. Yet the art story telling and past memories can still warm my heart and sooth my soul. I can think of nothing better to bring in a holiday such as Thanksgiving, with a wonderful memory of a town that one grew up in. (Tuesday Nov 24 | post #1)
1. I hate when I say something to my kids and realize I sound just like my mother. 2. I never realized until I became the old person, that you never feel like the age you are. 3. I hate when something I say is taken completely different than the way I meant it to be. 4. Realizing the what if's never really matter. 5. Knowing it's not enough to just apologize, you have to feel the sorrow and know you will never take that path again. 6. Realizing you completely made no sense at all after you pressed enter. 7. Finding the humor in being on the receiving end of drunk texting and drunk dialing. 8. Remembering what it was like being a child, when your child does something you know you probably would have done yourself. 9. Knowing your kids are adults, but when you look at them you still see the child. 10. I hate realizing there is little toilet paper on the roll after I've committed to the job. 11. Knowing the day you decide to not clean the house and stay in your pj's, you will have a surprise visitor. 12. The moment you shut the car door and realize your keys are in the ignition. Ms. Kiker. Last night you made your point clear that you will see your citizens at the polls. Now this morning you say all that could change. So here is my new question. Why announce you are going to run for Mayor in 2 years, instead of saying you are considering that you might run? This is where the criticism from your town comes from. It makes you look wishy-washy. If you are committed to running, do so. If not don't waste peoples time. I'm not being mean or rude when I say this. I think you should think a little more clearly before you say things. Maybe he just needed to get away from all the drama. After last night, I can see why. (Tuesday Nov 24 | post #5)
I am not a citizen of Marshville. Yet I am a potential patron. I do not hide who I am. I do have a few questions for you since you are running for Mayor in 2 years. How do you plan on helping to bring Marshville up to date with the new toll road coming in? What solution do you have to bring in more business to Marshville? What needs to be done to be able to handle the heavier traffic that is going to begin to come into your town? How will the way things are handled change? how will they stay the same? This can not be a law. I will explain why. To be charged with a crime is one thing. It means that you are accused not convicted. If a law such as this was in effect. Every person that didn't like an elected official could bring up any kind of bogus charge to keep that person from being able to vote. Remember in this country, you are still innocent until proven of guilt. Big Daddy, you made some good and bad points on here last night. I am going to say though, it was played like a game. It went in circles. I was beginning to feel like I was some kind of pawn being set up for some kind of outrageous point that was going to be made. I don't know any of these people involved in all of this. The concept of a fake picture, a fake letter, and some woman's girlfriend that left the state seems far to much like some kind of drama sitcom. Why not just make your point and show how you came to the conclusion? To me it would be much more of a respectable way of bringing your theory out. I still walked away with no "real" evidence. Just opinion and theory. I think the people of Marshville would do better by setting all this picture, letter and gossip aside. I know this town is proud of their PD. Why not show your support. Since Thanksgiving is in a couple of days why not show your Thanks to your PD in forms of notes, little Marshville PD support flags in your yard or on your car, I mean something, anything. People do it for their high school football teams all time. Why not the people whom serve and protect you. Imagine how all of this feels to them, the officers. Okay I said my piece on that one. I know I'm long winded. (Tuesday Nov 24 | post #177)
I'm here. Not much good I am though. I don't live in the town or even have a clue what's going on. (Monday Nov 23 | post #100)
911 operator...state your emergency please. (Monday Nov 23 | post #96)
Lol, to tell you the truth my husband would never do that. If by some chance he ever did. My sons would be the first ones on hand......I get what you mean there a cop. Yet why would a cop use computer aided design equipment? (Monday Nov 23 | post #88)
