Gitchie Manitou Murders in 1973
Did anyone watch my second boyfriend's new show on Discovery last night? "Into The Unknown" with Josh Bernstein? If Keanu won't come out to play then I'll pop my anchoress ass out my window to go explore gladiators and Noah's Ark and stuff with Josh. Hey, that's just the kinda gal I am! Uffda, he's hot. Tony, my car is about as big as the one that is illegally parked on your coat but I'd NEVER be so rude as to park on your coat...or your tail...or anywhere I wasn't supposed to. Tess, are Pink Pop Beads those plastic beads that had a sticky-outy thing at the end and you could pop one into another to make a string of beads as long as you liked? Kinda squishy plastic? I don't know...must've been the hashish. (Yesterday | post #4035)

Oh, and the window would have to be just big enough to haul my ass out of just in case Keanu's bike broke down outside and he was lonely and in need of companionship...(hee hee) (Thursday Aug 14 | post #3980)

I should go live in one of those anchoress houses. As long as I could fit in my recliner, my cat, a tv with basic cable, and a window big enough for pizza delivery I'd be good to go. Just think, it would take about 10 seconds to clean up the joint, and you'd definately never have to clean up after anyone else. Wouldn't have to panic about the place if company dropped by because there would be no room for company TO drop by. Sounds like a bite of heaven to me. (Thursday Aug 14 | post #3979)

Tess, that anchoress site was very interesting, and so was the haunted Iowa site. Where do you find these cool sites? You are a very interesting girl to have a brain that thinks to look for those things. Also, thanks for the haunted house story. Verrrry cool! Georgia, you can say whatever you want as many times as you want, we won't get tired of you! You rock! You are always interesting! Jill, how are the kitties faring these days? And how are you faring these days? Sarah, you are so upbeat that you always make me smile. Dakota, I'll try to figure out which house it was my friend and I lived in with the noose, but we were pretty big partyers back then, so we're lucky we can even have partial recall. But, we'll work on it! ( I know it was close to a 7-11 on Minnesota Ave, just a couple blocks west...)(It was a 2-story white house, hard wood floors, claw foot bathtub...) Tess, in reply to your story on the coffin with the glass lid: My Gramma would tell of when she was young and living on the farm by Garretson, she was at a funeral of a young girl who'd lived nearby and had a glass-faced casket as well. Right during the funeral the church (it's still there) began to shake and when Gramma looked outside she could see a tornado coming right across the field at them. She said that as people were jumping up to grab the casket and race it outside to bury it, a big jumbled up gust of wind came and she heard it come down the chimney of the old stove, and it blew black soot all over the glass face of the casket, so you couldn't see the little girl's face anymore. Gramma said the mother began screaming for her little girl, but the dad and the other men whisked the little girl outside to her grave, which was half full of rainwater by then, and had to lower her into that muddy mess with her mother screaming and crying. Then they ran to their carriage, my gramma's dad took a shawl to cover the horse's eyes, and ran next to the horse all the way down the road to the farm to get away from the tornado. That was my favorite story from Gramma, and one I have never forgotten. I still go to Highland Church (where it happened) and can see my family's gravestones, and always wonder which one is the little girls? (Thursday Aug 14 | post #3963)

I am officially on vacation as we speak. The only bad thing is that it is not a paid vacation and I'll have to work another 2 weeks after my boss gets back from his big trip, so I'm looking at about a month without a paycheck. Oh jeez, I think I just threw up in my mouth a little bit. This sucks. (Wednesday Jul 30 | post #3753)

Ahh, it's 4 am and I've been up since shortly after 2:00. Can't sleep. There's a lovely little thunder shower that just came thru, but it's over now. I should get in the car and go somewhere, but the only place to go would be in Sioux Falls, and thats a drive and a half. dumm de dum dum.....what should I do?...... (Thursday Jul 24 | post #3634)

We did a dinner theater downstairs at The Galley....we put on The Fantastiks, and Brynn was "the girl", Jerry Kreitzer was "the boy", Jim MacDonald was "the rapist" and Jeff Donnely was "the indian". Boy, did we have a good time! all those guys were fromn O'Gorman, but I went to Lincoln. Did you remember any of that stuff, Georgia? (Jul 5, 2008 | post #3447)

Tess, thanks for the camera tip. I had forgotten all about wanting a camera - - I've been looking at Ipods and MP3 players so I don't look like "Flavor Flav" with my CD player on the treadmill at the gym anymore! Well, my birthday is Sunday so maybe I'll ask for one or the other for a birthday present! Hmmmm, that's worth pondering now, isn't it? (Jun 25, 2008 | post #3306)

CB, I'd like to sit in a lawn chair in your back yard with a glass of iced tea for an entire afternoon just watching you being you. I bet that would be a blast! (Jun 25, 2008 | post #3305)
