Miami-Dade Police search for man who assaulted 13 year old
The important thing is to get this piece of garbage locked up for a long time. Actually, 150 years sounds like a good sentence. (Jun 30, 2009 | post #3)

Pit bull hero: Fort Lauderdale man called hero for prying open ...
The two men who came to the rescue of this little girl deserve every bit of praise that comes their way; they are certainly heroes. Great job. It's a shame when a little girl can't even ride a bicycle without having to worry about a pit bull attacking her. Ban these dogs now, please. (Jun 26, 2009 | post #14)

5-month-old boy's skull fractured, and grandmother searches for...
Two things from this article really stand out for me. First, there's this: "In the meantime, DCF records show that the medical director of Broward County's Child Protection Team had reviewed Jace's medical records and concluded he was being abused. But the agency did nothing to rescue him." You just have to wonder why they did "nothing ". Simply inexcusable. What in the world are they there for if not to do something? Second, it was the mother that brought this scum boyfriend into the child's life. She is very definitely responsible for that and I hope she is never allowed to be with another child but that's unlikely. (Jun 13, 2009 | post #8)

Romeo-Juliet case tests Florida sex offender law
Sex, even consenting sex, between a 19 year old man and a 14 year old girl is just plain wrong for a number of reasons. Still, let's face it; how many of us made made stupid mistakes of all kinds when we were teenagers? All of us? Whatever this guy might guilty of, though, certainly doesn't rise to the level of a lifetime of punishment. Clogging up the sex offender registry with cases like this is tantamount to cruel and unusual punishment. I hope the governor gives him back his life and I hope that cases like this never again make it this far. What a waste! (Jun 12, 2009 | post #6)
Broward School Board considers asking voters for more tax dollars
Yeah, right! This tax hike proposal is dead on arrival, a real non-starter if ever there was one. There is no way this is going to pass in this economy and especially so since enrollment is peaking and dropping and there is so much unnecessary spending going on already. (Jun 9, 2009 | post #9)

I couldn't agree more. It's cases like this that make the entire so-called criminal justice system look completely inept and it's us taxpayers that keep having to pay the bills for this nonsense. (Jun 7, 2009 | post #2)
"Those are 9.8 million people who don't take the effort to vote, I'm sure, but they take the time to watch Jon and Kate. Sadly, it's not surprising." Hey, Gary, I agree with you 100% but my question is this. Would you really want these people voting in the first place? These are not the kind of I want voting to decide the fate of our nation. I say keep them in front of the tv and away from the voting booths. (May 28, 2009 | post #7)
