Hey J.W., I'm one of the editors and I've just flagged every one of your posts. One place YOU won't be back is to this page. You must be very weak to be so anonymously abusive. Go ahead and trash talk me too while you can, if you must. You and your opinion don't matter. (Jun 21, 2009 | post #7)
BBB Warns Of Misleading Ads, Offers
What about Source One in Franklin TN? They send out those fraudulent auto warranty postcards. I've called them three times and three times they wouldn't say which car it was for "privacy. " yeah, right. So I gave them a bogus car make and model and asked, "Is that the one you mean?" each time they said yes. I complained to a supervisor months ago who said the lies were not acceptable. But here we are again. I'm in AZ so having the state attorney general investigate. (Apr 20, 2009 | post #1)
Cheryl, I moved here three years ago and what I did is take a room at Extended Stay at 73rd and Bell - very convenient to Surprise, shopping, food, etc. I came in in December when the prices were very low - $250 a week I think it was. They have a room with a small kitchen so you don't have to eat out. Surprise is wonderful and very safe, but the demographic is older than Phoenix. There are a ton of things to do at night. and few apartments. If you're looking for the best bargain Glendale and Phoenix are less costly. If you're young and looking for a place where jobs are still plentiful you should consider Tempe - many call centers, and lots of college activities. (Mar 16, 2009 | post #27)
I attended the Baylor University workshop on digitizing oral history and met so many interesting people and learned so much about preserving oral history. You have to read this story about the Austin TX Wall of Welcome. http://yoretown.wo rdpress.com/2009/0 2/02/wall-of-welco me/ (Feb 2, 2009 | post #1)
Community Newspapers Doing Well
don't understand what you're asking, Tony. How does this relate? (Jan 30, 2009 | post #2)
I'm sales and marketing manager for Suburban Newspapers of America, a trade association of nearly 2400 suburban and community newspapers in the U.S. and Canada; I'm a freelance writer/author as well. I'm also a former resident of Castleton, where I was Classified Advertising Manager at Topics Newspapers in Fisher. I'd LOVE a business reason to make a trip back to Indy. I'd like to visit the many community papers in Indiana, and would like to see for myself how Fort Harrison has evolved. I'm looking for media-related conferences and events coming up in the next 18 months. It might be newspaper conferences, digital media or interactive media events, search marketing events, or similar. Any ideas? If you'd like to reach me directly by e-mail I'm at sharon.hill@suburb an-news.org (May 3, 2008 | post #1)
The opportunities for business advertising for the retailer and service merchant, as well as the online and mobile world of business advertising for publications and other media are evolving faster than most of us can keep up with. Even the world of small private party buy/sell transactions has become high tech and highly evolved. The volume of online resources to learn about these changes alone is breathtaking. Let's explore together the changing world of business advertising and all it can mean for the consumer, the community, the media and the local business.

I Believe In:
Telework - just about any job can be completed remotely at least part of the time. It can save gas, time, real estate, turnover and even morale It can attract employees to the workforce that must work from home due to disability and expand an employer's geographic hiring reach. I also believe in newspapers and a grand multimedia evolution that will make them the best local marketplace everywhere. I believe in our senior citizens and the treasure of history and nostalgia they hold in their heads, if only we'd take the time to listen and record. I hope to somebody get a grant to complete an oral history project.
