So a 3% tax increase means it triples the cost. Nice try. I`ve been saying for over a year on topics its stupid for health care to be tied to business. It`s unbeliveable to me how you tie a tax increase to the free market system comming to an end. In the 1950`s the effective tax rate was about 49% for the highest bracket. Many new business were created in the 50`s. Unemployment was low. We paid off our WW2 debt. Most important the world did not come to an end and america even managed many infrastructure improvments. Business is run by demand not taxes. If I have enough workers to fill $25,000 in orders a month and orders increase to $50,000 I need to hire more workers no matter what my tax rate is. The people in the upper bracket who made out like bandits over the last 30 years have seen their income climb at leaps and bounds. Meanwhile the middle class and poor have had their incomes stagnate over the same period. Now the bill comes due and what do you say.... poor people should pay up. So last month when you said you supported the social saftey net that was just alot of talk. What you meant to say is that you support it unless you actually have to pay for it. Your examples of what you would do leaves out one very important choice. Take a few dollars less of pay for yourself. OMG what a revelation. Its amazing to me how you don`t even consider lowering your own pay so others don`t have to suffer. Bottom line is greed.
