Matthew, I'd like to say please don't give up the fight against this pai in the ass disease, keep looking a seeking information on what might help you. It sounds as if you are really suffering in a bad way i too have eczema and have had it since birth but i refuse to let this disease take over my whole life. All the best, Skin Deep. Hi Jesse, I hear what you are saying about steroids, but they really are very bad news. Yes they are a good 'quick fix', but in the long run they cause problems, thined out skin being the most common. I gave up steroids about 19 years ago, back then it was all about Betnovate and Dermovate (spellings might be wrong,it was a long time ago). Hi All, I've tried the magicreme, it has helped but the only problem is it states that it must not be used on bleeding skin, i would assume that also means weeping skin. As my eczema is very much the weeping and bleeding type i have only be able to us it on areas that are just plain dry (which is maybe about 60% of my rashes). Nonetheless it has been helpfull up to a point. I would like to know how you all get on with your detox diets, i have also read that an alkaline body is far more beneficial if you have eczema.As for steriod based cremes i gave those up about 20 years ago, they only make your skin seriously thin!! Hi, It's good to hear that you seem to have your eczema under control. As you know it's very much trial and error when it comes to finding out what works for you. No one said there was a cure for eczema and as for finding out what causes it yes no one seems tyo know what causes the initil onset but surely if one can find out what causes an outbreak in the first place this has got to be better than trying to find a cure after all 'prevention is better than cure',isn't it?? Hi John, Thanks for the info on magicreme i'm interested in the 'results' that you're getting. As you said it's way to early to give a conclusive verdict on its' effect on stopping new outbreaks. For me, having had this eczema for over 30 years its prevention that i'm searching for and to find out what actually causes it. Hi John, I'm glad to hear that magicream worked to smooth over your eczema, but are you saying that yes it worked but it won't prevent any new outbreaks from appearing? When you say the steroid creme was inefective do you mean it was inefective in preventing eczema but was useful once your skin had flared up?? You see i'm on a bit of a quest at the moment to find something that stops the flare ups. I've suffered from eczema from birth and i'm now well into my 30's and as i've said before right now i'm looking out for total prevention, not a cure (because i now there is none) or a creme that helps after the fact but just pure old fashioned prevention. Like i said i'm really not feeling all these cremes. I'd really like to get to the root of what causes eczema and try my utmost to prevent it from coming up in the first place. In my experience cremes just help to ease the flare up but i want to know what CAUSES it to flare up in the first place!! Otherwise surely we're just going round in circles??
