We have the same problem here in the deep south part of Illinois. Coal has always been the way of life here in the hills of Little Egypt, the name we call southern Illinois. Most of the settlers here came from eastern Kentucky and eastern Tennesee to work the mines here. We have only a handful left, American,Peabody,W illow Lakeand Black Beauty. We have lost Sahara, Will Scarlett, Old Ben,Kerr Mcgee,Delta,Brushy Creek,Amax,O'Gara, Wasson and Muddy coal companies. Quit electing liberal tree huggers, it is economic suicide,we are paying a heavy toll due to Illinois and Chicago politicians. (Saturday Dec 12 | post #6)
