Sorry Noranda but my electric bill is too much already..

All the Ameren customers will have to foot the bill for Norandas rate reduction...which would have to be approved by the State.  (Saturday Sep 6 | post #12)

Sorry Noranda but my electric bill is too much already..

Guess what I read just now that there's another proposal on the table where Ameren will just budget Norandas rate discount in the new rate hike proposal that's coming up...so I guess we'll subsidize Noranda. I'm serious, my rates have really gone up in the last few years yet that stupid commission or whatever their called are in Amerens back pocket. How much you want to bet Noranda will cut those jobs and benefits anyway? I guarantee that expansion will end up overseas also if possible. This is just Amerens way of screwing it's customers more while in cahoots with Noranda to get a sweetheart deal..  (Saturday Sep 6 | post #9)

Maybe but Ameren stated if they lowered Norandas rate then Ameren customers rates would go up. This company raises rates all the time and this would give them just another excuse. I don't want to pay higher rates so Noranda can make more money..my rates are way to high as it is..  (Friday Sep 5 | post #6)

Expecting for us Ameren customers to foot their electric bill is just wrong. They're a private company and shouldn't expect for us to make them a profit..... I would be willing to bet this is an opening for paycuts and other benefit reductions by this company. They'll probably use this excuse to re negotiate their contracts of their employees..OR it's an opening to move their facilities to Mexico...these corporations are the slime of the earth. Either way it's no concern of mine...our country has already been raped of it's manufacturing base while our politicians couldn't wait to show them the door...we're going to be a third world nation under the boot of a totalitarian elite within the next ten years anyway.  (Friday Sep 5 | post #3)

Ameren has been raising the utility bill alot already..I can't absorb more rate hikes just so Noranda can keep going...I don't owe Noranda a damn thing so I'm happy they were turned down keeping my bill just a little lower.. I suggest maybe the workers take a pay cut to make up the 25%...  (Wednesday Sep 3 | post #1)

War Memorials at the airport...

Well the A-10's aren't retired yet but if Sikeston get's on the list early who knows we might luck out. I hope they'd leave the Gatling gun in the nose with the shark teeth painting *LOL*  (Aug 23, 2014 | post #3)

War Memorials at the airport...

I think it's time to add something from the Gulf War and since they're retiring the A-10 warthog why not get one to go along with the F-4 Phantom? I'd hate to see this aircraft used as a target dummy or tore up for scrap so how about it town leaders can we get one?  (Aug 23, 2014 | post #1)

John's Mexican Villa

Um....I heard that a steak and shake was going to built at the crossroads of H and HH at the I-55 ramp....across the street from the old Marnor plant...also I heard it's going to be staffed by topless waitresses and the burgers will be 5 cents each and they will pay you to eat there on Sunday.  (Jun 26, 2014 | post #37)

Anyone else remember Lambert's Cafe?

Well to be honest I was too young to remember the roll throwing just all of the interesting people and the sounds of the place...to a little kid those things are very interesting:) They definitely had something special going on there...not to say the newer one doesn't have a great atmosphere and food...it's just well...different.  (Jun 16, 2014 | post #4)

Anyone else remember Lambert's Cafe?

The one that used to set right beside the Grecian Steak House? My parents used to take me there when I was very young and what I remember about it was all of the blue collar workers eating there...I saw farmers in overalls , people with greasy work clothers on and just everyday people. It was so small in there but it was a great place to eat... The Lamberts today is a great place and I get the attraction but to me it's more like a carnival than a cafe....I miss the old cafe...I wish they would have kept the small one for those of us that live here and let everyone else(tourist) go to the circus in Miner:)  (Jun 15, 2014 | post #1)

Sikeston Police Dept.

I used to not own a gun but since Sikeston has gotten alot worse I've been forced to purchase a shotgun because someone broke into my house. I don't blame the police for that but rather the ever more violent nature of this town. I don't blame someones race over that either...I'll kill you if you break into my home with me in it regardless of what race you are  (Jun 3, 2014 | post #72)
