Four things not to skimp on

Few things to add to the list they put out - a good fire extinguisher, good locks on your doors and windows (all the dangers at home don't come from inside).  (Sunday Jul 20 | post #1)

Three women beat victim, stole purse during robbery

Seems like if they took her purse after she dropped it trying to get away from them beating her (and child?) and then kept it - took checks out of it and what everelse was in it - and then passed forged checks --- sounds like a robbery to me. Mugging by a gang.  (Sunday Jul 20 | post #212)

$187,000 bridge has some fired up

>>>Nan--- David Nicol---Alison< << Nice information, thanks for puting it out, would of been nice to get some of that information in the story itself, but then it would not of been 'a story about wasteful gov't spending' I suppose. Thanks again. (why does my ISP bounce all over so much?)  (Sunday Jul 20 | post #48)

$187,000 bridge has some fired up

Well, if they got a million dollars for the trails, then they just spent almost 1/5 of it on a 20 foot bridge? Looks like a nice bridge though, solid and lots of space. Just seems like a lot of money for something that could of been a bit less solid - maybe a gaint concrete culvert and then pave the top of it - a lot cheaper.  (Sunday Jul 20 | post #47)

NIce info...do you have a link to the court information? Nice to be able to look stuff up like that...  (Friday Jul 18 | post #197)

Don't blame ethanol demand for high food prices

Grown myself? No, but worked on farms that did grow sorgum (besides the regular corn, soybeans, wheat and alfalfa - Dairy cattle, stock cows and hogs - it was all a lot of work but I think I enjoyed it more than what I do now...just didn't pay as much...)I'll head back your way (if you are in MN and not just your ISP) when I retire and plan to get into some things I've been looking at. You're right about sugar beets - and they are some ugly looking things too.  (Friday Jul 18 | post #80)

Why release them? They will probably only do more crime while they wait for court date. Will they pay any restitution? Have they been tested for drugs? If positive - could charge them with drug use too.  (Thursday Jul 17 | post #43)

One of two defendants strikes deal in dog's ear-cutting case

I know they can't cut off his AND her ears...just a thought, but why only probation for her? If she hadn't asked the guys to do it they probably would not of thought of it and then never would have done it. Not the same time for her as them (they did do it after all) but certainly more than probation for her...  (Wednesday Jul 16 | post #5)

Al Unser Sr. sues sheriff over arrest

Not knowing Unser (or his family), what I would think is that if you put a race driver behind a wheel and then tried telling him he couldn't pass a roadblock....well, he might just try to do as he pleased. After all isn't he better than the regular people? Hummm? He's not - just than he can't get his head around that. (Niether can a lot of Hollywood actors, sports people, and politicans.)  (Wednesday Jul 16 | post #12)

Man charged with maiming after attack with stool

Where did that come from? You didn't read a different story and then just drop a comment off here did you? What ever the 'reason' the guy got angry - you don't take it out on a child. If he was that out of control then he is a problem.  (Saturday Jul 5 | post #9)

Charging mom with neglect is whack

Tamara seems to have a voice of reason. The mother should of had the door locked (almost no matter where she lived and to keep the child from doing just what she did). You are right Tamara, once again very little information in the story.  (Friday Jul 4 | post #2)

Dad arrested in infant daughter's drowning in tub

I am always dissapointed by the lack of information in thses stories. Hardly know anything at all except the little girl drowned in a tub and the police were called to the home around 2AM. Mother could of been working and the dad could of been cleaning up a child that was sick. I have two daughters 21 and 17 years old and I remember cleaning them up in the middle of the night. I gave the oldest a bath once in the middle of the night, mostly it was my wife doing it. 30 seconds looking away could of been too long...was there other childern in the house he was looking after? I think they leave all the information out of these stories on purpose - to get us riled up and to get us to come back for more information. Seems to be working....  (Friday Jul 4 | post #36)

Jehovah's Witnesses gather in Hampton

Typos - Bible says he was an angel- not Son of God and thus not brother to Christ. I was pointing out stuff form JW papers, not stuff I believe.  (Friday Jul 4 | post #60)

I don't think so. The Bible says he was an angel - son not a 'brother of Jesus'. I was pointing out stuff form JW papers, not stuff I believe.  (Friday Jul 4 | post #58)
