You're missing what I'm saying entirely...so let me try again: If I beleive it is true then there is no difference in the MRI. If I believe aliens came to abduct me and you ran the same test, you would get the same results. Now, if I didn't believe it happened and was purposefully fabricating then yes the results would be different. Now, would that prove aliens really abducted me? No, it is still personal attribution relating to an event I experienced that was perceived as real to me. Again, this is nothing new or earthshattering. Many other tests have shown the same thing. Hey now..maybe they're on to something here..let's see: Do you know how many people have fallen to their deaths? Need to stop kowtowing to those evil Newtonists and all their talk about gravity now too! Do you know many people have died from the use of gunpowder? Clearly we need to stop the Baconists and Schwartzists..well hell we're not really sure who was first but we know it started way back with the Chineses so best to stop teaching chemistry in schools, and to remove any mention of China as well! And we haven't even scratched the surface! We still have the Tesla-ists to deal with and all their fancy ideas about electricity and the deaths that has caused...don't want any of that around here now either! Heck, by the time we finish there wouldn't be anything we couldn't blame on those 'evil scientist' types if we really try for it. Now all I need is a slick PR campaign on how the establishment is scared of the truth and some slightly well known face to shill for it and then I kick back and post a few sets of talking points on a couple of sites and let everyone else handle making excuses for me....brilliant! Clearly the answer is quantum vortex created by a core breach of the matter-anti-matter reactor developed by the Purple Unicorns of the 10th dimension that caused all matter across our universe to transport back in time and compress thus forming the Singularity...thus no uncaused first cause at all. Or FC could be right and the correct answer is closer to the Book of Mormon. (May 12, 2008 | post #2044)

Zeke, the question for the problem with the study isn't "What are the differences in neural activity between a real communication with an outside force and a faked one?" It has been previously studied and well understood that if a person who is meditating/hypnoti zed/etc... believes something, the brain reacts as if the event really happened. For example, someone who meditates and visualizes a strenuous workout - their brain will react identically to someone who really did a strenuous workout. So the question becomes 'how did this experiment show anything we don't know already?' All it shows is that brain activity occurs, it in no way shows they actually communicated with anything at all. That is hilarious, equating modern science with Flat-earthers, when it was science that allowed us to progress past a flat earth rather than just taking the Bible's word for it that the Earth was the center of the universe, was flat and unmoving, etc... But even with that dishonesty aside, what knowledge is it that ID would advance, predict and help move forward? What "half" is missing from the current Theory of Evolution? I'd be more than happy to address that with you. (May 10, 2008 | post #1946)
Keeping Ripken too long was the problem?@!?! Hello, are you forgetting the Albert Belle fiasco, bringing back Brady Anderson, Sosa post steriods, getting rid of Davey Johnson, trading away or sitting on any minor league prospect who wasn't throwing a 98mph heater or looking to hit 40+ home runs, etc, etc, etc... and you want to say it was keeping Ripken too long? Gay rights still stuck at impasse
You seem to keep changing your definition of what "marriage " is/should be. What does love have to do with it being a state recognized social contract between consenting adults or not? Why should the State grant special priviledges to one groups contract and deny others the right to form such contracts of their own? Simply because you don't like the idea? (May 9, 2008 | post #65)
Gay rights still stuck at impasse
A child can not give consent, but nice try at a strawman there. So by your argument if the majority of society at some point decides christianity is incorrect then it's perfectly ok to pass laws that prevent and outlaw it? Or well, since women are a majority it would be ok for them to decide all money earned by men goes to them..hey now no complaining, they're the majority. Or could it be that you're just talking out of your **** since you're comfortably in the majority and it isn't your rights being infringed? (May 9, 2008 | post #63)
Gay rights still stuck at impasse
So then women past menopause shouldn't be allowed to marry? Men who are infertile are prevented from marriage since they don't serve their purpose? Marriage is a social contract recognized by the State that grants certain rights, not a contract that requires reproduction to be valid. (May 9, 2008 | post #62)
Frost family draws ire of conservatives -
Right, so figure about 20 states have already gotten the exception over 200 (With 10 of those at 300 or more) I would count that as allowing up to 300. The new one sets the lower bar at 300 and allows above that from there (Oct 11, 2007 | post #739)

Just a note: The current program already covers 300% Though the effective individual limit is set by the states. (Oct 11, 2007 | post #732)
Frost family draws ire of conservatives -
You are confusing the request New York had already put in for an increase to 400% and the federal CHIP legislation that included a specific method to obtain funding above 300% to a maximum of 400%. And again as for propoganda chiefs, as I'm not a republican or democrat if you can let me know who my assigned 'chief' is I'd much appreciate it. (Oct 11, 2007 | post #703)
Frost family draws ire of conservatives -
And I guess you can't since the legislation allowed waivers up to 400% of the federal poverty level which would equal about $82,600. So where was it I lied again Joe? Even the Senate press release mentioned the conditions required to get funding to cover those above 300%. (Oct 11, 2007 | post #696)
