Lewisburg named as place to see before you die

I couldnt access the full article but im assuming its very similiar to others on the same topic i have seen. Lewisburg a place to see before you die, hmmm would have to think about that one before i agree. But then again im a native of the area, so maybe im bias from all the neighborhood issues such as the big one mentioned above, traffic! I care about our community and county but IMHO lewisburg is a community all their own if you get what im saying. How can you shop downtown lewisburg when there is NEVER any parking? Thats appealing to visitors im sure. These remarks are from experience as I worked in one of those shops in downtown lewisburg. the majority of our customers were from the greenbrier, until they stopped running the shuttle buses to town for their guests to shop. (guess they wanted them to shop in WSS). Although the new GREEN SPACE is a nice addition to the town, i feel a little more privacy landscaping to help block atleast one side of the traffic view would make it more appealing as well. Still waiting to hear more on the 'dog park' suggestion. This would also be a great addition, as animals are not allowed in the green space park. for a cozy bed and breakfast town lewisburg has its ups and downs, but as for the earlier comments, yes i would have to agree im one of the locals that just goes right on through town, and shop on either side of downtown b/c of the issues with parking and traffic. But can still think of lots of places besides lewisburg I would rather see before I die.  (Jan 16, 2008 | post #5)
