Vikings are deep. Very, very deep.
I agree... Mills should be our receiving TE... Shincoe only if we're in double TE sets... (Yesterday | post #4)
The Vikings king in the NFC North?
You need to talk to you're dealer and see what kind of Crack you're smoking... Green Bay 12-4 HA!!! I'd say with everything taking place, the transverse would be my guess... Minnesota Vikings 11-5 **Super Bowl Bound** Green Bay Packers 9-7 ** Wild Card Loss** Detroit Lions 7-9 ** John Kitna Released ** Chicago Bears 5-11 ** 1st Round QB 2009 Draft ** (Monday | post #469)
TOM POWERS: Minnesota Vikings and Brett Favre could be a great fit
See, but I only hated the guy because of the team he played for... It would be different if he had been on another team, we wouldn't even have anything to talk about... Think about how angry it would make Packer fans to see him in Purple and that makes it all worth while... (Wednesday Jul 16 | post #441)

I don't know, I'm a T. Jackson supporter but if we have the chance to have Favre come in for 1 season, why on earth would we pass on that? Jackson could learn from(I hate to say this) but one of the best... I think that it would take the only question mark away from our 2008 season in a lot of peoples' eyes... When you bring Favre in teams have to immediately respect the pass and it would open up the running game to a whole new level... Not to mention what a leader he is... Out of Green Bay he's leaving a leadership vacuum that is going to take some time to fill... I'm not saying let's do something drastic but, if he wants to come and play are you opposed to having him here? (Tuesday Jul 15 | post #2)
TOM POWERS: Minnesota Vikings and Brett Favre could be a great fit
Yeah, I deal with a "special " crew of them at work every day... You guys can't argue though, with the rivalry for 17 years wouldn't it be cool to let him see it from the other side? Even if it is for just 1 year.. (Tuesday Jul 15 | post #439)
TOM POWERS: Minnesota Vikings and Brett Favre could be a great fit
Wow, you guys are missing the picture, What the Packers are going to do is sit on Favre until after training camp and then release him or trade him, that way they can know that any team he goes to would have a tough decision to make due to the fact that, yes he is an outstanding quarterback, but wouldn't have really any practice with the offense... Ted Thompson was an idiot for giving Favre such a tight time line to decide if he would come back or not. Vikings could use that distaste from Favre against Green Bay. If he wants to come to Minnesota to guarantee himself one more ring I'd say let him. Screw Green Bay, he's a big step up from anything we have right now, sign him to a 1 year deal and explain to T. Jackson how important it is to learn behind someone of that caliber if it's possible. Regardless, Minnesota vs. San Diego in Tampa Bay this year will be the scenario no matter what other kinds of inbreeding take place East of the Border... (Tuesday Jul 15 | post #435)

That's so true... Yeah "Bucky" was one of a couple I was talking about... Just hilarious how people only that many miles away from the Great State of Minnesota can be that ignorant and dumb...Amazing to me... With a suspension lurking, Mckinnie replaced by...Hicks?
To expand and agree with you on that. Chase Johnson is supposed to be a more mobile, better attitude, and better speed player than McKinney. The guy is 6' 9" and 330 lbs. He's also supposed to have some pretty long arms also. I agree though on him being a pure RT, but dire situations call for dire strategy. If for some reason we aren't satisfied with who we put at LT, he would make sense to throw in there( or throw a bunch of money to Ogden the recent retiree from Baltimore) and see if he wants to play one more year. With a suspension lurking, Mckinnie replaced by...Hicks?
I beg to differ on one aspect of that, I'd like to see the Vikings move Cook to LT and put Johnson in at RT to start training camp and see how they match up... Remember they get the privilege of practicing against The Best pass rushing DE in the league last year, should be a good bench mark for ability in those positions. I'm amazingly looking forward to McKinney being suspended, get it over with so we have some trade value with him and we can ship him somewhere else and free up some cap room... If Chase Johnson is nearly as good as I think he can be, we're set on the offensive line this year. I could be wrong though, I have been in the past (once or twice) (Wednesday Jun 25 | post #3)

It's tough though, because with the entire rest of the division being HORRIBLE!!! This year it's going to be remembered that the Vikings had an easy 6 wins to kick off the 13-3 season, before going on to the Super Bowl and beating the San Diego Chargers in Tampa Bay. I really get a kick out all these Green Bay Packers fan's trying to compare a team with a ton of question marks to a team with one question mark... Aaron Rodgers compared to Tarvaris Jackson is like comparing a Porsche 911 to a car with a salvage title. The car may get them where they need to go(Rodgers), but it's a big gamble. Our Porsche(Jackson) is just out there to add some fun and insult to injury when called to push in the pedal and punish defenses. I stick with it. The reason these Packers fan's are so quick to try and insult Vikings fans is because of the fact that this is all they've got to do until September when we silence them... They hold on to past glory as we get ready for the new age, the age where Packers fan's everywhere get to reap the whirl wind that the Vikings bring to them. Any Packer fan out there that even tries to contradict anything as far as greatness and winning coming to Minnesota next year completely undermines their credibility and knowledge of the NFL. I think we are giving our friends east of the border too much credit based on last year's performance. I don't know if they had a combination of lucky rabbit's feet, horse shoes, and four leaf clovers or if they just threw enough pennies into a wishing well, but they had a season like nothing close to what they should have had. This year all the pieces will be put back in the order they should be... Aaron Rodgers is their starting quarterback, thus we really have nothing to worry about this year... Easy 2 wins this year for our 13-3 record (I'm being conservative) They will have a top 5 pick in the 2009 draft. Minnesota had 21 of 22 positions on offense and defense sured up, with the exception of quarterback and that's just one of those situations where we can't be too quick to jump on the T. Jackson band wagon scenarios... Our quarterback position is in great shape in my opinion, but on paper it's not up to where I hold it. Special teams is mostly comprised of what would be starting positional players on other teams, and our defense is going to be the most dominating force in the NFL by week 1 of the regular season. It's not even worth responding to such a dumb person to put the Packers in the same league as the Minnesota Vikings at this point... I'd be more apt to put them against a solid Division 1 college team than any team in the NFC North... That's just my opinion on that matter. Any Packer fan that thinks otherwise needs to close up the markers he's been sniffing... (Monday Jun 23 | post #326)

It's pretty standard scoring from what I'm used to except for the adding 1pt for 100 yds and 3pts for 150yds and also with the Quarterback 1pt for 300 and 3pts for 400... Do you do Team Defenses/Special teams or individual players? Also do you use the "Flex" roster spot? (Jun 18, 2008 | post #34)

Did you notice that he posted the exact same thing in about 5 discussions? What a clown! He better get all that crap out of his system because, come week 1 when Minnesota comes with everything they will realize how bad they're going to be... Then you'll see their fans quiet right down... Vikings' Shiancoe ready to roll, not talk
No, you need to rephrase that, "Packers maybe WERE the best team of all time" and then add to it, "With Brett Favre's retirement comes the end to an era of winning, the last chapter in a long book was written and the book was closed when Favre's locker was cleaned out" You have to remember that it is like saying you are better at something just because you were around longer... The Packers excelled in the old days just because they were one of the 1st football teams around... It would be like a division 1 college team playing JV high school squads back when the legacy was written. Packers were a thing of the past, The Vikings are a thing of the Present and the Future! Understand one thing... Memories of greatness is all you east of the border fans have to hold on to. (Jun 18, 2008 | post #38)
