On a union pipeline job you can almost get fired for any reason. We have a ton of rules we have to follow. Pipeline work is a very dangerous there is no tolerance when it comes to safety. Some people get fired because they are working for an equipment operator who gets fired. So if your an oilier and your operator gets fired then you go too. I was on a crawler crew and the operator got fired and 4 other guys lost their job. Lucky for me the boss really like me and I reassigned to another operator. I guess you could appeal it but I have never heard of anyone doing that and got their job back, but I'm sure it has happened. Most people call the union and get on the "out of work list", and then the union puts them on another spread. Some times you can get fired on a spread and if you really mess up the company who has the spread can black list you where you will not work for them again. (May 21, 2009 | post #37)

He was being rude. If someone were to talk to me that way I would not have been as nice as the mayor. But you know what dude? You are a Mayor hater. I really could careless one way or the other. I don't love her but I don't hate her either. If she were not reelected I would not lose any sleep. But I can bet you can not tell me any one thing that you like about Kathy Taylor. You hate her so bad. If the mayor were to have a drawing and your name was picked out and she gave you a million dollars from her own checking account you would still hate her. If you were in a fiery crash and she risked her life you save you or a loved one, you would still hate her. I have probably voted more times republican than I have voted Democrat. I will be voting Republican for my city councilor. He has done a great job. So this democrat is going to reward my republican city councilor with my vote. I don't know how I will vote for mayor. Depends on who runs against her. I am not a sheep, so I vote for who I think is the best for the job not who my party, or the paper, or church, or radio talk show host says to vote for. Your so full of **** ! On a union pipeline job people get fired almost everyday from the job. Right on the spot (without notice). Anyone who has every worked a union job on a pipeline knows that for a fact. That means your phony BF has Never worked a Union Pipeline job a day in his life. Tell you what honey put your money where your mouth is. I will bet you 1,000 American Dollars ($1000.00) that on a union pipeline job people get "fired on the spot" without any notice for, being late for work, for not showing up for work, littering, walking over the right a way boundary, not following safety procedures, for mixing top soil with sub soil, for making bad welds, for bumping the pipe with a piece of equipment or a vehicle, for not getting along with coworkers, for sexual harassment, for testing **** for ban substances, for coming to work hung over, for getting thrown in Jail, for losing DL drivers license. I have only worked union pipeline jobs and have seen a lot of men and women get "sent to the house" or told "Go pick up your money" (fired on the spot). It happens almost every day.
