Way to step up and help out, Berniece. I am sure that the puppy that you get will have a wonderful life with you. Your best bet is to call or visit the shelter and let them know what you would like to do (I don't know if they read this forum). You know, dogs are nicknamed man's best friend for a reason. They are really amazing animals who can interact with humans at a level that is simply amazing. With this mind, I do not have the words to express my disgust with seeing them treated in this manner. The person or persons behind this have absolutely no decency or class. What is more vile is the fact that these malnourished, improperly cared for puppies were destined to be sold as pet. The silver lining to this cloud is that Wayside Waifs have them now, and they are a class act. Couple Accused of Poisoning Salsa at Lenexa Restaurant - WDAF

While it has no bearing on the subject, I don't know that they are 'Mexican', they have Hispanic names, but they could be from a Latin American country other than Mexico. That being said, their ethnicity has nothing to do with this. The fact that they are awful people is what is at play here. Regardless of their heritage, this was a horrible thing to do, and their punishment should fit the crime and should not care what their race is. I know a lot of good, hard-working AMERICANS with a Hispanic heritage that would never do anything like this.
