Are we discussing Jews or Dogs? There is certainly no requirement in Judaism to be directly related by blood to Abraham. In fact, King David's own Grandmother, Ruth, was a convert to Judaism. The line of continuity from Abraham to today's Jews is a religious one, not a biological one. Most Jews, both Ashkenazic and Sephardic, share have common decedents going back to Biblical Israel, but it has nothing to do with their authenticity as Jews.  (Monday | post #34)

Palestinian Groups Agree not to Fire Rockets Into Israel

Apparently... this story, which originated with the Xinhua News Agency, is totally bogus. Islamic Jihad and the PFLP denied that they signed onto any Hamas deal to stop rocket attacks into Israel. The Palestine Press Agency reports that the DFLP and Fatah Al Aqsa Brigades have said that they have not agreed to any deal that stops them from firing rockets towards Israel. The Hamas Al Qassam website itself is also strenuously denying that any such agreement was made, quoting Hamas spokesman Abu Obeida as saying that no such deal is in the works.  (Monday | post #8)

Many of the greatest minds in Jewish History have pondered the question -- What makes a Jew a Jew? There is the halachic answer of course, but there are always exceptions. But, at the end of the day, this is a question that ONLY Jews get to any input on. It's no one else's business. If Israel says that apostate Jews aren't eligible for immigration then that's their decision. Let's be clear though, MOST (not all, but most) "Messianic Jews" don't meet any halachic requirement to be Jewish (Jewish Mother) -- they are mostly Xtians who thought it would be cool to emulate Jewish culture and ethnicity. In addition, the "Messianic " community in Israel and elsewhere is HEAVILY involved in proselytizing, which is offensive to most Jews.  (Monday | post #23)

The founders of the UN knew, despite their New Age rhetoric, how easy it would be for any bloc of countries to achieve control of the body. That is specifically why they created a system where ONLY security council nations can pass any sort of binding resolutions and that ONLY the Allied victors of World War II could veto the resolutions of that body. I'll make a wager. If you think it's easy -- do it. Seek out a Rabbi and go through the process of conversion. It shouldn't take long as you say. Post your Shtar Giur (Certificate of Conversion from a Jewish Court) online and you can say whatever you want. We will never question you again.
