Abortion politics: fear on the right

I agree!! She made the choice to get pregnant and she should deal with what comes next. This is exactly what I am trying to explain to people but everyone is so hard headed.  (Aug 22, 2008 | post #70)

Why should only the baby be thought about?? Thats what makes the area grey. Do we take the young womens side and do what could potentially be best for her or do we take the babys side? It's not going to be our choice as to what this young women decides to do anyway. I do feel for the baby and try not to even think about what it goes through during the process. I'm going to asume that you are a guy and to be honest, I don't think that men have any say in the matter of abortion. Carry a baby for 9 months and then give it up and tell me how you feel. Get raped at 13 and get pregnant and have your baby and not feel any sort of connection to it and tell me how you feel.  (Aug 22, 2008 | post #69)

I just don't think that having a child after being raped at 13 is something a young girl should have to go through. The county will try and help her with her financiall needs and then poeple will look down on her because she's on welfare. Or she might not feel a connection to the child and have to live her life looking at a baby that she feels nothing for and reminds her of being raped. I do think your argument is valid, I just can't imagine how she would get over an experience like that.  (Aug 22, 2008 | post #68)

How do you think a 13 year old would handle having to carry a baby nine months, go through the emotional and physical pain of labor, and then give the baby up?? Probably about the same if not worse then the way she would handle the abortion. This exact situation is why i say abortion is such a grey issue.  (Aug 21, 2008 | post #47)

3 students suspended over Pledge of Allegiance

Do you think 8th graders really even know what it is to be partriotic?? I doubt it. They probably read some stupid article about how other kids sat down during the pledge or about how people question wether it should still be said in school and they thought they would be cool to sit during it. Let em choose wether they want to stand or not. They barely even know what it means. They will learn someday though and then they will wish they would have stood.  (Aug 21, 2008 | post #106)

I feel abortion is a grey issue because there isn't always a time when you can say it's right or wrong. I do not agree with women using abortions as a way to "get rid" of a baby. There are women out there who have had multiple just because they can't keep there legs closed. But if a women is raped or too sick to carry, then aportion may be a good solution. Why should a 13 year old girl who got raped and became pregnant have to go through having a child. And yes, adoption is always an option. But think of the trama that 13 year old girl would go through having to carry that baby and give birth. Shes already going through having to deal with being raped and abused.  (Aug 21, 2008 | post #24)

Family grieves from afar after Lake Calhoun claims a life

I couldnt agree more. We really have far bigger issues then abortion and people reelly should be focusing on those. I don't think that pro-lifers realize that they are never going to be able to stop people from having abortions. At some point they have to realize that it's your body, your choice. Abortion is such a grey issue and it's hard to debate. I am for sure pro-choice, but not when it comes to using abortions as a form of birth control. I really hope that people can wake up and see the issues in the world or even just in the US that couldn't hurt to have a lil bit of attention.  (Aug 21, 2008 | post #10)

Family grieves from afar after Lake Calhoun claims a life

Wow that's sad. I hope his friends are able to raise enough money to get his body back home so his family can say goodbye. My heart goes out to his friends and family.  (Aug 21, 2008 | post #2)

A lower legal drinking age?

Maybe they should make it so there is no legal drinking age. Just that you have to be a certain age to actually PURCHASE alcohol or to drink in a bar. I agree that its ridiculous that you can drive at 16 and fight for your country and vote at 18, but can't drink a beer.  (Aug 20, 2008 | post #28)

2-year-old St. Paul boy awaits heart transplant

How is this not newsworthy?? Did you even read the article? Most of it is about the new machine that Children's Hospital is now trained in using that this little boy has connected to him. Pay attention. And what does the child's father have to do with anything at all? You are a moron. I sure hope this little boys family doesn't have to be "enlightened " with your ignorance by reading this comment.  (Aug 15, 2008 | post #20)

Dad accused of banging baby's head on table, injuring her brain

I would really like to know what is going through somneones head when they are beating the crap out of a child. Especially a HELPLESS 8 month old. This sickens me. I will pray for this baby and I hope she has a successful recovery. Unfortunately she could have damage for the rest of her life because of this dirtbag.  (Aug 14, 2008 | post #6)
