How important is sex in a relationship?
I read somewhere, or saw a documentary, that one of the things that gets couples through some of the hardest times together is sex. The way it was explained was after childbirth, when they are having to deal with all the waking up, crying, screaming, clean up poop, etc. the sex they have brings them closer together. They are able to deal with all the extra stress of having a newborn. It works for that, so it probably keeps working for other things further into the relationship. Something having to do with the chemicals that are released when couples have sex. (Tuesday Nov 24 | post #246)

Fort Hood Shooter is a Terrorist
There are a lot of other countries that require military service from their citizens, and if we were to institute that same requirement here in the US (say, a minimum 2 yr service, unless going to college, etc.) then I think we'd see a lot less people getting into trouble during their early years. They either get busy and go to school, or get busy and go learn a trade in the military. I'd also be very open to having people from outside our country, voluntarily join our military, serve their obligated time, and get an additional reward of being made a citizen, but I think 8-10 years would be more in line as an obligation, as they are getting a lifetime benefit in return. 2 men arrested in woman's death (1:45 p.m.)
I'll agree that there is no way to get an accurate account of what happened from most media these days. (Tuesday Nov 10 | post #4)
Fort Hood Shooter is a Terrorist
Thats a pretty easy way for people to "get out" of their obligated time off. You'd have every person not wanting to go to war claiming they have changed over to islam or something like that. (Tuesday Nov 10 | post #156)
Should Mortuaries be able to hold bodies hostage?
Let me put it a different way: You drop your kid off at a baby sitter for the day. At the end of the day you come to pick them up, but somehow you forgot your money, or don't have enough to make the full payment. You are willing to pay them the amount but you can't do it all at once (i.e. you are willing to pay, its just the timing you can't do). Are they able to keep your child until you pay in full? Its the same thing, except in this instance the body of the person is still alive. Not knowing ALL the details, only what I've read in the story, but it does say it wasn't that they didn't want to pay, they just couldn't pay everything up front, and wanted to work it out. Its the funeral home that didn't want to cooperate/negotiat e/compromise. In the end, they lost that business, and probably more in the future. It may be their right to enforce the contract, but what they just did will certainly negatively affect their business in the future. (Tuesday Nov 10 | post #26)
Should Mortuaries be able to hold bodies hostage?
In that case, yes, they can hold it until they obtain payment. However, that should not be the case with a HUMAN body, alive or dead. Lumping a human being in the same category as regular property shouldn't be done. While I wholly side with the mortuary for attempting to enforce their agreed upon contract, the method of holding body is not one I agree with. (Tuesday Nov 10 | post #25)

Fort Hood Shooter is a Terrorist
My latest drill weekend, there wasn't any particularly extra security that I noticed to get on base, which surprised me. (Monday Nov 9 | post #113)
Should Mortuaries be able to hold bodies hostage?
He can't just take them to small claims court like everyone else would (like everyone else has to, we don't have the ability to confiscate something and hold it ransom, neither should he.) (Monday Nov 9 | post #13)

NM revenue department suspends contract with MVD firm (8:51 a.m.)
Hehe, not looking at upgrading as of yet, but if they do ever come out with a 1200 I might seriously consider it. Honestly, the only thing I really want right now is hard luggage, as power/handling are both beyond my capacity as it is. (Monday Nov 9 | post #23)
NM revenue department suspends contract with MVD firm (8:51 a.m.)
DMV does need to provide better service though. Their hours are too short, their capacity is too low, and their speed is horrible. I will give the website vehicle renewal a thumbs up, it worked with no problems. (Monday Nov 2 | post #21)

APD accused of having DWI arrest quota
Hey, I ain't arguing that drinking and driving is against the law, but the law says you have to be impaired to a degree that renders him incapable of safely driving a vehicle. Now, take for the example someone goes out to dinner, has 1 beer, and gets stopped on the way home. If they were driving off the road then fine, they are "impaired to a degree that renders him incapable of safely driving a vehicle"... but if they are driving fine, and the only reason they even get stopped is because they happen to go through a checkpoint, and they are below the legal limit of 0.08, then they should not be arrested or charged with DWI. In that case: * they are not above the legal limit. * they are not impaired to a degree that renders him incapable of safely driving a vehicle. (Oct 27, 2009 | post #124)
