Dance permit of popular Roseville nightclub yanked

The place serving the alcohol should take it's fair share of the responsibility ~ and know when to stop serving to those who are consuming too much. This place has long been an eye-sore.  (Friday Aug 22 | post #3)

Angelina Jolie Gives Birth to Twins

other news channels are saying that this information is false. And that a rep for Ms. Jolie is saying that Angelina has not in fact given birth. I guess Entertainment Tonight should check the reliability of their "source. "  (May 30, 2008 | post #1)

Assembly Passes Paid Sick Leave Bill for All Workers

Don't get me wrong, I am all for taking a day off when I am sick, but WHY should my employer have to pay me to sit on my butt and recover? Did my employer make me sick? Is it my employers fault that my child is sick and needs me to stay home for a day, NO! Why should ANY employer have to pay an employee not to do their job?? Hello --- I work, I get paid. If I don't work, that is my problem, and I do not expect to get paid a wage that I have not earned while my co-workers have to pick up my slack. Whether its a small business or a large business I feel that this law could enable many people to abuse their rights to "paid sick days." I hope if the law passes the employee who gets paid for being out sick has to provide a doctor's note in order to be paid. Like anyone else, I like my time off of work, but again, I do not feel that my employer should have to pay me when I am not at work. Employers should pay a fair wage, pay on time, and respect their employees. That does not mean an employee is entitled to a "get paid for being ill wage" Just my opinion, but one I feel strongly about.  (May 28, 2008 | post #34)

Assembly Passes Paid Sick Leave Bill for All Workers

Great ~ here comes the demise of the "mom & pop" and other small businesses in California. What? Our economy doesn't already suck, now you want all the employers to pull up stakes, close their doors and go out of business? The cost of doing business in California is getting higher and higher every day. Those of us who proudly work for small businesses are going to pay the ultimate price for this - we'll be joining the ranks of the unemployed.  (May 28, 2008 | post #4)

Hot Summer Trend - The 'Staycation'

Hmmm.... funny from the title of the news article I expected to read about how to enjoy a vacation while staying home; hence the "staycation " Instead I read about how an amusement park lowered their prices. Maybe the title of the article should have been - Vallejo - bankrupt, but still counting on your tax dollars - visit Six Flags today, and spend your hard earned income so we can continue to poorly manage the revenue.  (May 28, 2008 | post #1)

No Criminal Charges for Mom Who Left Baby in Car

well said!!!! This woman is an idiot for leaving her son sleeping in the car while she was having her hair done. If her son's nap time was so darn important that she did not want to disturb him, get a baby sitter and leave the child sleeping safely at home!!!! I am not a perfect parent by ANY means at all, but I darned well no better than to leave a child or animal alone in a parked car (locked, unlocked, running or not.) I can't help but wonder, is this the only way she endangers her child? She probably leaves him home alone when she goes to cash her welfare check, or when she goes out to show off her new "do."  (May 28, 2008 | post #28)

OK, slap me on the back of the head and call me stupid, but I am really clueless as to how exactly a city files for bankruptcy, and how exactly does that affect the residents and businesses of that city?  (May 7, 2008 | post #7)

Hearing for children at polygamist retreat grinds to a halt

My thoughts and prayers are will each and every man, woman and child affected by this situation. I do not believe in the FLDS church, but I do believe that every adult over the age of 18 has the right to live their own life. I hope that the children who are in the protective custody of the state are being cared for in a positive manner and that they are being assured that this situation is not their fault.  (Apr 17, 2008 | post #150)

Sacramento Driving Teacher Facing Sex Charges

Maybe this incident was and isolated "first." Or maybe there are other victims who have not come forward. I hope a full investigation is done and that if there are more victims of this man's actions, they come forward. My thoughts and prayers are with the teen who was brave enough to fight for her rights and for her family who surrounded her in support.  (Apr 17, 2008 | post #25)
