When a patrol hits an IED in Afghan, that little ‘mission’ within a mission may get held up for a few hours but we roll on, and we go anywhere we choose to go and we move whatever we wish to move and set up bases anywhere we decide to, and we kill about 350 of them for one of ours and even more when you factor in our Air strikes, mortars and artillery. We have swept any town clean of Taliban that we have selected to even though when we leave others begin showing up. This isn’t World War Two, this is an insurgency; the enemy would cease to exist in a matter of days if they stood and fought but they know better. Ninety nine percent of direct fire coming from the Taliban has been carried out by them within a few seconds, and then they run and try to blend in and hide amongst the civilians hoping we violate the current rules of engagement by dropping bombs upon one and all. The only ‘defeat’ that could come will be the one handed to us by our Liberal and cowardly politicians and political correctness operators looking to appease some foreign non-sense.
