Acts 2:38, Matthew 28:19 Baptismal formula
So when we quote scriptures it is repititious and boring. HMMM, sounds like the diatribe of a defeated man! Can't lie anymore can you about God being one person. Can't lie about David being the Messiah can you. FADE AWAY MED!! FADE AWAY!!! (Friday Aug 8 | post #256)

Acts 2:38, Matthew 28:19 Baptismal formula
So basically you said in your last comment: Jesus Christ is the Father and you're going to have to choke on it, BIGSHOT. Wrong: The Father and Son are clearly distinguished as two Persons by the repeated article tou, “the” and the repeated preposition meta, “with” We proclaim to you also, so that you too may have fellowship with [meta] us; and indeed our fellowship is with [meta] the Father [tou patros] and with [meta] His Son [tou huiou] Jesus Christ (1 John 1:3; emphasis added). Greek 101 my friend, these prepositions express different persons not one. FADE AWAY MED! You know absolutely nothing about Greek Grammar and the Greek NT. (Friday Aug 8 | post #252)

Acts 2:38, Matthew 28:19 Baptismal formula
So med says something doesn't exist so it doesn't exist. Acts the very text Med claims doesn't exist DOES EXIST BUT ONLY WITH BAPTISM. So if this doesn't exist than acts 2:38 baptism doesn't exist either! Wow Med you keep digging yourself a hole! Secondly Christ has always existed even at this time: For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son (ton huion ton monogenee), that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life… Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son (tou monogenous huiou tou theou). John 3:16, 18 The term monogenes literally means of sole descent, only one of its kind, unique. Thus, Jesus is the only Son of his kind, God’s Son in a unique manner, Son in a sense that no one else is. The word used for ONLY is Monogenes. Monogenes Definition: 1.single of its kind, only a. used of only sons or daughters (viewed in relation to their parents) b.used of Christ, denotes the only begotten son of God This word differentiates him from anybody else in the Bible. A perfect example of this word’s significance can be found in Hebrews 11:17-18: “By faith Abraham when he was tested, offered up Isaac, and he who had received the promises offered up his only (monogenes) begotten son of whom it was said, IN ISAAC YOUR SEED SHALL BE CALLED.” Here we see that Isaac was called Abraham’s only begotten son not because he was his only child. Rather, Isaac was his unique son because it was only through him that Abraham’s seed and God’s covenant would be established. In a similar manner, even though there are many in the Bible that were called sons, only Jesus is said to be God one and only unique Son. Even the Jews realized that Jesus was claiming to be a Son in a very unique and special way which made him equal to God: “And this was why the Jews persecuted Jesus, because he did this on the sabbath. But Jesus answered them, ‘My Father is working still, AND I AM WORKING.’ This was why the Jews sought all the more to kill him, because he not only broke the sabbath but also called God his Father, making himself equal (ison) with God." John 5:16-18 Note how those who were completely familiar with the Hebrew Scriptures and knew full well that God had many sons still realized that Jesus’ claims were unique since he was clearly placing himself on par with God! HENCE YOUR APPEAL TO ISREAEL FAILS MISERABLY FOR THE GREEK AND HEBREW CONTEXT AND TEXT REFUTES YOU YET AGAIN! FADE AWAY MED! (Friday Aug 8 | post #248)
Acts 2:38, Matthew 28:19 Baptismal formula
You said in those post that Psalms referred to David, Acts the very book you said clearly mentioned that it referred to Jesus: He has fulfilled for us, their children, by raising up Jesus. As it is written in the second Psalm: " 'You are my Son; today I have become your Father.' Acts 13:33 Exactly how you debunked that remains a mystery to me. Basically All you've done is debunk the fact that you really don't believe the Bible. Sorry Med you lose big time. (Friday Aug 8 | post #245)
Acts 2:38, Matthew 28:19 Baptismal formula
For somebody who claimed Psalms 2 was about David BUT COULDN'T PROVE THAT DAVID IS THE MESSIAH OR THE CHRIST, THERE IS NO NEED FOR ME TO DANCE AROUND OR GET AROUND ANY POST. Jesus himself says that everything in the Psalms is about him: He said to them, "This is what I told you while I was still with you: Everything must be fulfilled that is written about me in the Law of Moses, the Prophets and the Psalms." Luke 24:44 And your favorite passage of SCripture Acts (since you love Acts 2:38) has this to say: he has fulfilled for us, their children, by raising up Jesus. As it is written in the second Psalm: " 'You are my Son; today I have become your Father. ' Acts 13:33 This is reference to Psalms 2. Fade away med! (Aug 7, 2008 | post #233)
Acts 2:38, Matthew 28:19 Baptismal formula
For the Biblically illiterate: Christ Greek: Christos Christ = "anointed " Christ was the Messiah, the Son of God anointed Do notice that in Psalms 2 it clearly refers to the MEssiah in Hebrew: Why have nations tumultuously assembled? And do peoples meditate vanity? Station themselves do kings of the earth, And princes have been united together, Against Jehovah, AND AGAINST HIS MESSIAH (Mashiho): Of course MED COULDN'T PROVE TO US THAT THIS IS DAVID CLEARLY BECAUSE DAVID ISN'T THE MESSIAH. Yet in trying to claim that Christ "isn't anointed yet" would mean that Jesus wasn't the Messiah or the Christ! If this isn't laughable I don't know what is! Even if we were to assume that Jesus "wasn't anointed yet" or wasn't the Christ at this time, MED would in turn refute himself for the Bible says: Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. Heb 13:8 Which according to the Bible JESUS WAS ALWAYS THE MESSIAH YESTERDAY, TODAY AND FOREVER. HENCE MED IS A LIAR! How do we know this? The Bible tells us: Who is it that overcomes the world but he who believes that Jesus IS THE SON OF GOD? This is he who came by water and blood, Jesus CHRIST, not with the water only but with the water and the blood. And the Spirit is the witness, because the Spirit is the truth. There are three witnesses, the Spirit, the water, and the blood; and these three agree. If we receive the testimony of men, the testimony of God is greater; for this is the testimony of God that he has borne WITNESS TO HIS SON. He who believes IN THE SON OF GOD has the testimony in himself. He who DOES NOT BELIEVE GOD HAS MADE HIM A LIAR, because he has not believed in the testimony that God HAS BORNE TO HIS SON. 1 John 5:5-10 RSV Being antichrist is not only denying that Jesus came in the flesh, or that he isn’t the Messiah, BUT IT ALSO entails denying his Deity and the relationship he enjoys with God as his Father. According to the Bible anyone who doesn't acknowledge the Son DOES NOT HAVE GOD and can't be saved!! ONE MUST ALSO BELIEVE THAT JESUS NEVER CHANGED AND WAS ALWAYS THE MESSIAH AND THE SON. You are required to believe in Jesus as thus AND otherwise to deny this testimony is to deny the testimony of GOD HIMSELF AND TO ACCUSE HIM OF BEING A LIAR!! (Aug 7, 2008 | post #231)
Acts 2:38, Matthew 28:19 Baptismal formula
We repeat: Against Jehovah, AND AGAINST HIS MESSIAH (Mashiho):`Let us draw off Their cords, And cast from us Their thick bands.' He who is sitting in the heavens doth laugh, The Lord doth mock at them. Then doth He speak unto them in His anger, And in His wrath He doth trouble them:`And I -- I have anointed My King, Upon Zion -- My holy hill.' I declare concerning a statute: Jehovah said unto me,`My Son Thou [art], I to-day have brought thee forth. Ask of Me and I give nations -- thy inheritance, And thy possession -- the ends of earth. Psalms 2:1-8 YLT "his Anointed One" (Mashiho, from which our English word Messiah comes) IS THE GREEK WORD FOR CHRIST. David isn't the Christ or the Messiah! Nowhere in history is David THE CHRIST or Messiah which the 2nd book of Psalms explicitly states in the Hebrew and Greek OT. MED TELL US WHERE DAVID IS THE MESSIAH IN JUDAISM AND CHRISTIANITY! JESUS CHRIST NOW IS DAVID CHRIST? HMMM THAT'S A LAUGH. (Aug 4, 2008 | post #209)

So is David the Messiah or the Christ. If you can prove this is the case only then you can debunk me. Passage clearly mentions Messiah whom both we know isn't David. Between a rock and a hard place eh! (Aug 4, 2008 | post #208)
Acts 2:38, Matthew 28:19 Baptismal formula
This is highly false: Without father, without mother, without genealogy (apatwr, amhtwr, agenealoghto&# 2044;/B>). Alliteration like Romans 1:30, the first two old words, the third coined by the author (found nowhere else) and MEAING SIMPLY "DEVOID OF ANY GENEOLOGY." The argument is that from silence, made much of by Philo, but not to be pressed. The record in Genesis tells nothing of any genealogy. Melchizedek stands alone. He is not to be understood as a miraculous being without birth or death. Melchizedek has been made more mysterious than he is BY READING INTO THIS INTERPRETATION WHAT IS NOT THERE. Made like (apwmoiwmeno&# 2044;/B>). Perfect passive participle of apomoiow, old verb, to produce A FACSIMILE OR COPY, only here in N.T. The likeness is in the picture drawn in Genesis, not in the man himself. Such artificial interpretation does not amount to proof, but only serves as a parallel or illustration. Unto the Son of God (twi uiwi tou qeou). Associative instrumental case of uio߼/B >. Abideth a priest (menei iereu߼/B >). According to the record in Genesis, the only one in his line just as Jesus stands alone, but with the difference that Jesus continues priest in fact in heaven. Continually (eiߠto dihneke߼ /B>). Old phrase (for the continuity) like eiߠton aiwna, in N.T. only in Hebrews (Romans 7:3; Romans 10:1,14,21). - http://www.biblest udytools.net/Comme ntaries/Robertsons WordPictures/rwp.c gi?book=heb&ch apter=007&vers e=003&next=004 &prev=002 Let the reader observe that the word aphomoiomenos, which is perfect passive participle of aphomoioo, literally means “A FACSIMILE OR COPY” of something that is original. Here is another source which confirms this point: Strong’s # G871 1) to cause a model to pass off into an image or shape like it 2) to express itself in it, to copy 3) to produce a facsimile 4) to be made like, render similar (Source) What this shows is that the writer of Hebrews is saying that Melchizedek is actually inferior since he is merely a shadow, a copy of the Lord Jesus. To further support our position that the inspired author of Hebrews didn’t literally mean that Melchizedek had no genealogy notice what this extra-biblical Jewish apocryphal writing says about this exalted high priest: And Adonizedek king of Jerusalem, THE SAME WAS SHEM, went out with his men to meet Abram and his people, with bread and wine, and they remained together in the valley of Melech. And Adonizedek blessed Abram, and Abram GAVE HIM A TENTH from all that he had brought from the spoil of his enemies, for Adonizedek was a priest before God. Book of Jasher 16:11-12 Note that this source identifies Melchizedek/Adoniz edek as Shem the son of Noah. Now compare this with the following: After Abram returned from defeating Kedorlaomer and the kings allied with him, the king of Sodom came out to meet him in the Valley of Shaveh (that is, the King's Valley). Then Melchizedek KING OF SALEM [a] brought out bread and wine. He was priest of God Most High, and he blessed Abram, saying, "Blessed be Abram by God Most High, Creator [b] of heaven and earth. And blessed be [f] God Most High, who delivered your enemies into your hand." Then Abram GAVE HIM A TENTH OF EVERYTHING. Genesis 14:17-20 Footnotes: a. Acts 2:38, Matthew 28:19 Baptismal formula
The reason I quote this is because it gives the historical view of the day as to how Judaism viewed God at the time before during and immediately after Jesus. This goes right along with the OT view of the Son of God: Why have nations tumultuously assembled? And do peoples meditate vanity? Station themselves do kings of the earth, And princes have been united together, Against Jehovah, AND AGAINST HIS MESSIAH (Mashiho): `Let us draw off Their cords, And cast from us Their thick bands.' He who is sitting in the heavens doth laugh, The Lord doth mock at them. Then doth He speak unto them in His anger, And in His wrath He doth trouble them: `And I -- I have anointed My King, Upon Zion -- My holy hill.' I declare concerning a sstatute: Jehovah said unto me, `My Son Thou [art], I to-day have brought thee forth. Ask of Me and I give nations -- thy inheritance, And thy possession -- the ends of earth. Psalms 2:1-8 YLT In Psalm 2 we have a prophetic picture which should be read in its entirety. In it is described ~(vv. 2 and 3) the time when the nations will declare themselves against God, and against his Anointed One (Mashiho, from which our English word Messiah comes). God says in verse 6 that he will nevertheless establish this Messiah as his King on Zion, his holy hill. In verse 7 Messiah steps forward to declare the decree by which his coronation shall be accomplished saying: "I will proclaim the decree of the Lord: "He said to me, 'You are my Son; today I have become your Father. Ask of me, and I will make the nations (goyim) your inheritance." ' Here we continue with the end of this passage: Serve the LORD with fear, And rejoice with trembling. KISS THE SON (nashqu bar), lest He be angry, And you perish in the way, When His wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all those who put their trust in Him. Psalms 2:11-12 Furthermore, in Psalm 2:11-12 we are solemnly instructed: "Serve the Lord with fear and rejoice with trembling. Kiss the Son (nashqu bar), lest he be angry and you be destroyed in your way, for his wrath can flare up in a moment. Blessed are all who take refuge in him." The Hebrew for "kiss the Son" is nashqu bar. Even if this is translated, as some would have it, "Do homage in purity," the homage is to the Lord of verse II and to the Son of verse 7. The Tenach or Old Testament clearly indicates that there is a divine personality who is called the Son of God! This falls right in line with the Jewish theology of Jesus day and Jesus himself. But Jesus answered them, My father has been working until now, and I have been working. Therefore the Jews sought all the more to kill him because he not only broke the Sabbath but also said that God was HIS FATHER, making himself EQUAL WITH GOD. John 5:17-18 (Jul 25, 2008 | post #175)
Acts 2:38, Matthew 28:19 Baptismal formula
He always claims and condemns others as being wrong or corrupt when he can't answer their argument. I'm sure he'd agree that Christianity is the modern version of ancient pagan religions since they also had a dying and rising savior very similar to Jesus too! We continue more with Jewish non-Christian writings. From the introduction to I Enoch in works, “The Old Testament Pseudepigrapha (2 vols)” [Charlesworth (ed), Doubleday: 1983] says: The Messiah in 1 Enoch, called the Righteous One, and the Son of Man, is depicted as a PRE-EXISTENT HEAVENTLY BEING who is resplendent and majestic, possesses all dominion, and sits on his throne of glory passing judgment upon all mortal and spiritual beings. (Ibid, vol. 1, pg. 9) Now we quote from this book: At that place, I saw the One to WHOM BELONGS THE TIME BEFORE TIME. And his head was white like wool, AND THERE WAS WITH HIM another individual, whose face was like that of a human being. His countenance was full of grace like that of one among the holy angels...'Who is this?'...And he answered me and said, 'This is the Son of Man, to whom belongs righteousness, and with whom righteousness dwells.... this Son of Man whom you have seen is the One who would remove the kings and the mighty ones from their comfortable seats and the strong ones from their thrones... I Enoch 46.1ff Notice that the Messiah in ancient Judaism was WITH GOD, who is described as the one whom belongs time before time! The Jews before Jesus and during Jesus time clearly understood that the Messiah was seperate person from God the Father yet equal and divine with all the same powers he carried. ONCE AGAIN JEWISH HISTORY BEARS THIS FACT. (Jul 25, 2008 | post #172)
