Join Us For the ProToReAm Weekly Documentary
"The ProToReAm Initiative" continues its weekly series of screening hard-hitting and relevant documentaries. Over two nights, September 21 and October 5 (there will be no meeting on Monday, September 28), we finish up the genre titled "Mind Games" with the three-part BBC documentary "The Power of Nightmares." Both Part 1, "Baby It's Cold Outside," and Part 2, "The Phantom Victory," air September 21 while Part 3, "The Shadows in the Cave," airs October 5. "In the past our politicians offered us dreams of a better world. Now they promise to protect us from nightmares. The most frightening of these is the threat of an international terror network. But just as the dreams were not true, neither are these nightmares. 'The Power of Nightmares' explores how the idea that we are threatened by a hidden and organised terrorist network is an illusion. It is a myth that has spread unquestioned through politics, the security services and the international media."
