Continental Fined in Tarmac Stranding

Good for them. They would have been in a sterile area in the concourse. Chances are the TSA checkpoint was closed, so they would have been contained. Sure no food, but lavs and presumably water fountains as well as the ability to stretch out. Some of the employees of these little airlines, especially at night, just lack the basic knowledge.  (Tuesday | post #1)

UAL Attendants Honor (Mock) Picket Lines At American

They supported a mock strike. So the pretended not to cross a line for a strkie that wasn't really happening. I bet in the event of an actual strike they neither march with, or refuse to cross the line.  (Sunday Nov 22 | post #5)

Emergency landing in Kan. after plane loses engine

Sounds like Alliegent. If I can fill a S-80 (most likely MB83) with people who will fly cuz it's cheap why not. Look how far the legacy carriers fly thier "regional " jets  (Thursday Nov 19 | post #2)

Not too much unless they leave the business model of an all 737 fleet. Unless like routes SWA has been known to fly they go to London with stops in Greenland, Iceland and Manchester. Mexico and Canada are in range. Hawaii not so much.  (Wednesday Nov 18 | post #8)

Lose JAL, especially with a potential open skys agreement on the horizon, and lose alot of future dollars. On the other hand, you've been telling your unions for the past 2 years you are broke, however you can find a half a billion to try to keep a partner in your alliance. Must be from the mgmt bonus cofer.  (Monday Nov 16 | post #2)

Full is full.Cheap is cheap Once the real cheap seats are gone, and you have to pay a higher price say $70 more rt, you will go to legacy.com and book with them to save $20. Or do like most do and carry less and carry on. Just know that getting on and off the plane is taking alot longer now. My favorite flier is still the one that got a price so low (and possibly got one over on the legacies by gate checking his steamer trunk) that now he can afford $30 plus a day to valet park.  (Monday Nov 16 | post #4)

Spain emerges as top dog in BA deal

America West gave up name to US Air but stayed out west. BA giving up to Iberia for tax purposes. That is a shocker, these are countries. The business side says tax deals, bye. The English side is amazed you'd let Spain take care of it. Time to fix this somehow  (Saturday Nov 14 | post #1)

United Pilot Arrested at Airport, Charged With Being Drunk

The flight was only booked to 124. Talk about excess capacity. I'd rather have a drunk pilot all paranoid and thinking extra hoping not to get busted than pilots on a laptop too engrossed to fly.  (Tuesday Nov 10 | post #1)

Southwest to offer Nashville-St. Louis flights

These short flights are what boosts the RPM figures. Get up, get down, add, subtract pax do it again. Those silly major carriers going transcon nonstop. That's what we need is more short flights. I like flights that with time to get to the airport etc are longer than if you just got in the car and drove.  (Tuesday Nov 10 | post #2)

Midwest Airlines' Parent Company To Add 800 Jobs in Milwaukee

Let me guess, if you are ex-YX you aren't getting recalled. You can however get your same job back with Reoublic holdings. The pay will be slightly less. Just a theory mind you, but I wouldn't be surprised if I was right  (Tuesday Nov 10 | post #1)
