SB, since you have the deductive capability to eliminate possibilities out of hand please explain to me how you come to that conclusion. I think that the intent of the Constitution was the protection of our posterity (the unborn) and IF the intent of the law was to protect the unborn (and I think that it can be argued that way) then abortion is unconstitutional. The only reason abortion is legal is because of Roe v Wade and it's not like the Supreme Court hasn't reversed itself before. Personally I think R v W is just another example of the Federal govt. sticking it's nose in where it doesn't belong. I believe that it is a states rights issue and the people of each state should decide whether they want abortion to be legal or not.  (7 hrs ago | post #219)

As for the D of I not being a legal document I disagree, here are my reasons. It announced to the world the legal justification for the 13 colonies to separate from England. It brought charges against King George, "He has erected a multitude of New Offices, and sent hither swarms of Officers to harrass (sic) our people, and eat out their substance." It established the "right of the people to alter or abolish" their government if a government became unjust. Since there was no recognized court that the colonies could appeal to and receive a just verdict the D of I was the Legal Document that justified throwing out the old law and establishing a new one in the form of our Government.  (8 hrs ago | post #216)

That's why I said it was a "possibility " SB, I guess you skipped over that. The preamble to the Constitution (which is the ultimate law of the land and is definably a legal document) states; We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America. Posterity n. 1. Future generations. 2. All of a person's descendants. Together both books tell the whole story. I believe that is available on-line in pdf as well. You're right in that "no man is that smart" not me, not you, not Einstein, not anyone but collectively we are. There are times when I might hit 20-30 websites researching a response to someone just to make sure I limit my mistakes and make as accurate a post as possible, "I stand on the shoulders of giants" to paraphrase Newton. Imagine what people with virtually limitless resources like the Rothschilds, Rockerfellers and Carnegies can do. As an example let me put forth my own little conspiracy theory. I have not seen this put forth by anyone else. Let's say that a group of people want to buy the United States. These people are BIG bankers so they back some politicians who want to make sure everyone in America owns a house, they encourage congress to pass laws that require the govt. banks (F. mae and F. mac) and other bankers to make home loans to people who can't qualify for a regular loan. The BIG bankers know that there is no way these people can meet their obligations and that they will eventually default. The MIDDLE bankers and investment houses see all the money being made, buy these mortgages and bundle them up and sell them to investors. Property values continue to go up as more and more people buy property. Everybody is making money as long as long as the people on the bottom can continue to meet the mortgage. Eventually the bottom falls out, as the BIG bankers realized it would, all the investors are left with mortgages that are in default from people who are bankrupt. The BIG bankers buy all these bundles that they have had their advertising agencies (CNN, Fox etc...) label as "toxic assets" for pennies on the dollar. The "toxic assets" are real property, they are the mortgages for huge chunks of property mainly located in the larger cities but are scattered throughout the U.S. It was the Federal Reserve that bought the "toxic assets" and the FED is a private, for profit bank that has never been audited by the government. It's employees are not govt. employees this was shown in Lewis v U.S. in 1982; http://www.globalr esearch.ca/index.p hp?context=va& aid=8518 In my opinion this proves that whoever owns the Fed now owns a significant portion of U.S. real estate. It is a plan that has been in the making since Carter signed the CRA into law back in the 70's. That's my conspiracy theory.  (9 hrs ago | post #54)

I've got to disagree with you on this one Repo, Who is the "man"? It's easy to discover that, just follow the money. Who owns the central banks of all but 5 nations in the world, who has the power to print money out of thin air then charge governments interest on said monopoly money, who has funded both sides of every war since the mid 1700's? Read two books if you get the chance; The Law that never was, by Bill Bensen and The creature from Jekyll Island, by G. Edward Griffen they are both well researched books with sources that can be documented and verified. Left and Right are BS, stick with the Constitution and you can't go wrong.  (13 hrs ago | post #51)

Welcome back CSID, glad to see you have recovered from your death. Was it a self induced recovery or did SB extend his benevolent hand over you and assist in your recovery? By the way SB the practice of abortion didn't just start up with Roe v Wade, it has been around since Greek and Roman times it was also practiced in ancient China. In Southeast Asia, massage abortion has been practiced for centuries. This is when pressure is used on the belly to cause abortion. The earliest representation of this is from 1150 AD in a carving in Cambodia. Records of abortions in the 12th century exist in Japan. English women used many different practices in the middle ages. Most common were exercise and using a girdle, which was tightened to place pressure on the abdomen. So yes it is a possibility that our founders had the practice in mind when they wrote the D of I and the B of R.  (14 hrs ago | post #211)

There you go again, first off I never said that a concept equaled reality. I said a concept can change the reality of a situation. You have to remember that back then we were 13 united States, each with different religious beliefs and moral standards. Vermont, Mass. and New Hampshire's state constitutions had already abolished slavery and R.I., Penn. and Conn. soon joined them. The "men" of the revolution included women like Deborah Sampson, Hannah Snell and Sally St. Clair who hid their gender and served on the front lines. Tens of thousands of women marched with the army in different capacities and many gave their lives acting as spies. Blacks also served, there were black regiments from the start of the war filled with men like Gad Asher and Bristol Baker, Crispus Attuks and Salem Poor The point is that many back then did envisioned what has come about today, a land where all are accepted. It just took time and blood to get there. Your god like demeanor is wearing thin and your presumption of knowledge of the inner thoughts of those revolutionary giants belittles you. By the way you and response are welcome to come out to my place and settle your dispute in a contest of pugilistic prowess. SB is a friend and when he puts his mind to it can come up with some very persuasive arguments. He is actually quite conservative politically, just misguided on a few things philosophically. We agree on issues much more that we disagree but he is fond of playing the Devils advocate just to see how easily he can rile some people up.
