Police search for answers in hit-and-run death of Beloit woman
To Beloit Resident, while I appreciate the support that Lorens friends have shown, Kara is naturally angry and needs to have a tangible person to be mad at. I had the same feeling when Jimmy was killed. My anger was so strong that when a crew of innocent Mexicans were working on a bridge by my house, it crossed my mind : If I mash on the gas I wonder how many I can get. Thats when I knew I had to get a grip on my anger and work it out some other way. Eventually she will too. Anyway, I am not angry, just frustrated with the way the investigation is dragging. That being said, I know it is pointless to persuade Kara (or Warren) of anything different. But to many others on here, I have to say that in time there will be an arrest. Whether it is Loren or someone else they decide to charge, those people need to know that 95% of what people think they know is wrong. Provably wrong. Irrefutably, provably wrong. Until the day that the truck was impounded Loren didn't have a clue that it was his pickup involved. If it is Loren who ends up on trial, he will be acquitted because he was not in that alley. Period. Not driving, not riding. Not there. I agree that someone knows what happened and we believe we know who, but it is not our place to point fingers. I have to do what Lorens attorney says and what the police, and especially the chief, should have done to begin with, which is "I cannot comment on an ongoing investigation. " I can only comment on Loren. So for those of you who believe in Loren thank you. For those of you on the fence, thank you for not jumping to conclusions. For those who believe that Loren's guilty, if that is what you have to do and it makes you feel better, please continue. The sooner they charge Loren or someone else the sooner this will be over with. If you think he's quaking in his boots waiting to be arrested, you would be wrong. He assumes he probably will be and welcomes the chance to prove his innocence (Sep 25, 2009 | post #314)

Out of curiosity, why else would someone be laying in an alley? And no, it's not Loren. He doesn't have a computer and he's at work. Like everything else you want to throw out there guessing is not fact and facts are what matters. (Sep 24, 2009 | post #294)

Thank you NAB but I wonder if it depends on the policy of your insurance carrier. Despite that, if a party claims to have cancelled an insurance policy on a particular date, that also does not make it true. It is obviously provable through the insurance carrier beyond a reasonable doubt (Sep 23, 2009 | post #275)

HMMM. People driving home drunk. Are you sure you want to go there?? Not that you will believe anything I say but overweight tickets are the responsibility of the truck owner. If your boss tells you to take a load that you can't scale, he pays the ticket. Since overweight tickets tend to be expensive (over $600.00) plus fines and reinstatement fees it was about $900.00. Loren turned the ticket in with the load packet. The truck owner didn't pay it and Missouri suspended his license. There is no requirement for Missouri or Kansas to notify you of the suspension and yes, it was wrong to drive while suspended. It was so wrong that for the week after your mom was hit, the police knew his license was suspended and let him drive to the police station and leave 3 times. It is only illegal when they choose for it to be illegal. I am sure you were upset the other day when you called the police so they could stop him and they didn't haul him off to jail. Ask your truck driver friends, it is hard to not get tickets and usual to get 5 or 6 a year. None of the tickets were moving violations. He has never had an accident in a car or in a truck. As for insurance, that would be up to the owner to tell you about that. Oh, and by the way, Loren doesn't own it yet, didn't then, doesn't now. You really need to get a grip. Wanting Loren to be the guilty party doesn't make it so. Even Chief Stalker wanting him to be guilty doesn't make it so. (Sep 23, 2009 | post #268)

Well, that one I can answer. An overweight ticket at the O'Fallon scales wasn't paid. Obviously, that is sufficient reason to lose a DL for life. (Sep 23, 2009 | post #264)

Just for the record I haven't been on here. I've been at the hospital most of the afternoon and evening. I can think and speak for myself so you can all quit deciding what I should say or do. There's only one person on here who I know the identity of and I haven't even talked to them so they aren't speaking for me. If you have something to say to me just say it. (Sep 2, 2009 | post #217)
Atrizine in Beloits drinking water
Beloit, KS made the Huffington Post today with quotes from Lloyd Littrel clear down at the bottom of the article. It says that "According to the EPA data, atrazine spiked above 20 ppb in May 2008, but Beloit reported a high of 2 ppb to the public." Copy and paste this link or google it. I did not say how the tests would or would not come back. What I said was that you are jumping to a lot of conclusions based on a lot of if's. Since it appears to me that you have a conviction before you even know the facts, we are fortunate that you are not the one to investigate and charge the guilty person. It appears to me that after a slow start, the officer in charge is making progress. Perhaps, instead of making FALSE accusations and accusing me of harboring a serial killer and pitying me, sit back, wait and allow the police to tell you what they believe. It may not be what you think they do. Screaming your lung out as if justice is dependent on your voice makes you look more foolish than you believe me to be. The real pity I save for your child. I would hate to think you would be so willing to throw your child under the bus because an impatient citizen such as yourself thinks that's they have more answers than the officers involved. There are others, besides me, who know you are wrong. How often does someone have to unwind barb wire from a pick up???? You're right, mostly we cut it out.......... Again, the guilty party should accept responsibility. You are just barking up the wrong tree. I haven't said anything untrue and I'm not ashamed of anything that I have said. Fortunately, you're not the one investigating so it matters not whether you believe me or not. I hope there are many mothers & fathers out there who would feel the way we do and that they would support an innocent child, and they would do it with or without your approval. Say what you want about this or anything else. I'm taking Outraged by Ignorance advice and I'm going to quit reading this garbage. (Aug 17, 2009 | post #132)

Not necessarily true. It would depend on whose blood it was. Mechanics skin knuckles, people unwind barbed wire that's tangled around an axle. A lot would depend on where it's found and whose it is. Ask any farmer. Concerned for Justice presented a lot of ifs. But maybe you should reread it and see that all the guessing in the world will not get you the answer that you want. It doesn't work that way and sometimes who you want to be guilty just isn't. If you all would be patient you will hear the whole story. If you can't wait for an official announcemennt of an arrest perhaps you should join the police force. And yes, some of us do know quite a bit and not from the papers. Unfortunately we can't talk about it either. The family will get answers and closure when the tests get back. I'm pretty sure all of your speculation is not helping them either.
