Work to begin on RB entryway

Great to see this happen.. Our electeds have worked very hard on the City's Strategic Plan and part of that plan is beautification projects as such.. Little by little those "eyesores " will disappear.. Ripley and Meyer project looks great.. Hopefully Ripley and Flagler will be next..  (Jul 20, 2008 | post #5)

City Employee Killed in Industrial Accident

I want to thank the Daily Breeze for publishing my letter today on the editorial page. Although Police officers and firefighters get the blunt of the coverage when an accident occurs, I felt it was necessary to stay focused upon the loss of city of Inglewood employee, Rafael Jimenez. Though I have nothing but respect for the work done by police and fire, I wish to convey that public works and parks employees work side by side with these folks... Many police officers from IPD feel like this is a loss of their own. Officers from the Community Affairs section of PD alone have contributed a substantial amount of money to assist the family of Rafael to meet ends. Thank you to all.. A special thanks to the City of Hawthorne and the City of South Gate.. Your contributions will not be forgotten.. Harry F.  (Apr 14, 2008 | post #1)

Worker killed falling into tree-trimming machinery

I would hope the City goes the extra mile Rick.. Understanding that they have procedures already in place in this type of event.. It's also my understanding the City has never suffered a loss like this in the way it happen.. This was a horrific accident..  (Apr 9, 2008 | post #17)

Worker killed falling into tree-trimming machinery

CAL-OSHA is investigating this as an industrial accident. The City of Inglewood employees are extremely hard working as Marcus just pointed out. Some of the jobs that they are required to do go well above and beyond the call of duty. I salute those Inglewood employees for their dedication. Now, they must suffer the loss of a family member. Their perseverance will carry them through this tragedy. Like many have done so far, I would recommend that a quick phone call to the Parks, Recreation and Community Services department and send your personal condolences.  (Apr 9, 2008 | post #15)

Sewer fee may rise: Surprised?

Read your other comment.. I may want to help... One thing I do not like in the report is that it's missing future projected maintenance and operation cost.. And to add, with the Water Board issuing NOV's to 18 local agencies because they exceeded their TMDL's for water run off.. How will this effect the fee's as to prevent future SSO's? I'm also very concerned about the I&I.. That's not addressed either.. I meet you a few years back when you were advocating against the initial sewer fee.. Ran into at Vons on Beryl.. Unfortunate at that time, I didn't agree with you.. But this time.. I may be on board..  (Mar 25, 2008 | post #2)

WATCHING YOU

I fully support Gardena's position. Mitch Landsell has done a wonderful job there as City Manager. Steve Bradford, City Councilman should also be commended for his efforts. Bruce Pollack, PW Director.. Hat's off to you to sir.. I look forward to role model your efforts and bring them to other local agencies.. This is yet just another step Gardena is taking to move ahead..  (Mar 8, 2008 | post #19)

I agree with you Nuts.. Neither one of these post reflect the news article. I attended the State of the City Address and it's my opinion the Mayor Gin delivered an excellent address. He focused on remaining neutral regarding the slow growth initiative.. Thanks Mayor! Keep up the hard work!!  (Feb 26, 2008 | post #5)
