hi,didn't mean tjo get in your conversation but i can tell you much about the mennonite church. first of all they are the off shoot of the amish, who felt the amish was taking the literal word of god too literal,and that using lights,buttons,cars,etc,would not turn them into THE ENGLISH as the amish say. also the amish are losing many of their children totally so they offer them the opportunity to rumspringa,yes,no mispelling,see the world of the english to make sure they want to remain amish, but the mennonite people who are very generous in their community involvement are not having these problems as they are not hiding their children in barns in the country.they are good people and with the amish,if their children decide rumspringa and stay with the world of the english they are BANN,meaning banned and they are totally excommunicated and cannot be spoken to by anyone from their community or family! i am so pleased that you wrote me back-one thing for sure for everyone of gods people you blessed he blessed you back whether you saw it or not!if you touched one human being you have done more than most. oh,by the way,yea,ya caught me-not being very "pastory "ha ha i guess im really frustrated with my friend and governer mr ritter. he had to make budget cuts so for the disabled waiting on soc.sec.disability , he took away their $200.00 living expenses,$55.00 a month food stamps,the meds away from the homeless mentally ill,no appts at stout street for a long while and he's releasing thousands of violent offenders with no money,pre-parole plan,or jobs,to the streets of denver,his secretary is fielding all his calls and i'm getting the majority of these people. i just went home and i cried as the need is so great but he help is so little. im no punk but thinking of you made me cry too. im here at the office from 4am until 7pm just today trying to put people into temp jobs,housing,and medical care . man,im not bragging i need help!! the churches are supposed to be helping but they keep telling me if they lead them to salvation they have done their job.B***S###(not very pastoral again-smile. im so enjoying talking to you,cuz i think you are a gal that calls it like she sees it.so do i,god changes the condition of your heart,not your personality,i was a bartender for 30 years,i was a social worker in the clubs-that a gooood bartender-haha. girl i gotta laugh to keep from crying.you know i bet i know why you started helping people.kinda like me,i have a son completely offandon again addicted to drugs and 20 years ago i asked god,if you will take care of the one of mine,i will take care of all you send me,neither one of us has backed out yet. do you think that was your mindframe to?to protect your dad? see i never had a family and i was a ward of the state,i was sold,yes sold at the age of 8 out of foster care and went to indiana womens prison at 13,that is where i was raised,so no baggage,it was training ground to be able to understand the pain of others and pull them out of where they came from. i guess it was destined to be as some of our lives i believe are set on a path before we are born.you take care baby girl and pray for those that are hurting so badly right now,as i have open arms for them all,and sometimes just a random act of human kindness will bring a miracle, see i dont believe in miracles-I EXPECT THEM!!-with love,pastorkaren (Nov 13, 2009 | post #82)

sweetheart PLEASE do not open yourself up for hurtful words against you because i simply stated my faith belief system,i don't want you attacked verbally by your words i know you understand me and we are in agreement,but i'm a tough old girl livin and fightin in a tough world and nothing can stop the mission placed upon my heart.you are an angel or to some a special alien-smile- we don't care how they put it. but i'm getting ready to gear up for my hardest time of the year-holidays- a man made invention that people will suffer the greatest- loneliness,lack of family love,no turkey,low-income families agonizing whether to pay rent or buy toys for their childre,the evictions that promptly begin jan.6th for the parents who could not bear to give their children nothing for christmas-the suicides and murders that occur between thanksgiving and new years-sorry,i don't believe god created a celebration that destroys people.look up the invention of christmas,somepeople judge their whole lives on the unhappy holidays they have. now there is a real disorder of a seasonal sadness depression-so its crunch time for me.bye sweetie,i do apologise that a senior isn't as computer savvy as some of of the people on here who arent so forgiving-gee there a tough crowd ha ha (Nov 13, 2009 | post #200)

back at cha babe,cuz lovin on gods people is the greatest feeling in the world-by gods people i mean anyone who who breathes! its ok to agree to disagree,but i feel that even that communication brings us closer together as a human race,and although i don't come off like the flying nun,i know that some people have been so injured in their lives,physically,mentally,emotionally,they cant always hear what they want,and its diffficult for them to understand that it is not all black and white but shades of gray too.and that someone could care for them without spiritual agreement and love them just because they ARE.blessings to you pastor karen (Nov 13, 2009 | post #197)

you and i are going to be the most unpopular people on this forum,yet i do not care,as the first ammendment gives me this right. you have read my mind and articulated it perfectly i only have to add one thing that sickened me even more as the prison official came out emotionally you could tell gave the press a very simple statement,that he was assisted into the death chamber,refused the valium offered,watched the i.v. procedure,turned his head,closed his eyes and died peacefully.that should have sufficed,but no! they were asking questions like was he twitching and jerking? was he crying and begging,they just kept badgering the poor prison official who you could see was upset. why? because they just murdered someone who may or may not have even been guilty. because of dna testing more and more death row inmates are being exonerated. texas being in the lead for wrongful death,imprisonments,etc. i do not believe in the death penalty nor abortion-my choice-spending your life in prison and then being judged is punishment enough as i have worked as a chaplain and been in many colorado prisons,state and private,and you dont want to live like that.i pray for those that lusted in vengeance,and i have empathy for his family-who did they kill?everyone says they have no pity for his children-how misguided is that-they will live with the stigma of what happened and will suffer although they did nothing,and of course i feel sorry for the victims families their lives will never be the same,but did this give them resolution,closure,justice,vengeance is mine saith the lord folks-since you are all such good christians oh and by the way,judge not lest ye be judged-god said that not me blame him if you dare.
