Burnsville scoutmaster faces additional sex abuse charge
Pedophiles who prey on boys are rarely gay. It's not the the gender so much as the age. They just have access to boys, so they target them. (Monday Dec 21 | post #28)
Burnsville scoutmaster faces additional sex abuse charge
I never had any thing like this happen while a scout. But, we also had more than one leader with us always. And, isn't it funny, the BSA refuses to allow gays to serve as leaders, but seems plagued by pedophiles. And yes, I know pedos aren't gay. I just find it hypocritical of them to denounce homosexuality as immoral, while pedos are free to molest until some kid is brave enough to say, STOP! (Monday Dec 21 | post #27)

Bigfoot in the northwoods? Camera picks up strange image near R...
There are scientists out there who think Bigfoot isn't a myth. They see these reports of large primates as proof that Australopithecus Robustus, or Neanderthal man never died out, just went into hiding. I say, if it isn't in a McDonalds burger, they don't exist. (Monday Dec 14 | post #1340)

Hospital official: Wrong-way driver in Minneapolis crash improves
I agree. I see too many people ignoring the seat belt laws. Well, I can't do anything about them. But, if people are in my truck, I don't move until they put on the seat belt. Some people quote statistics about how seat belts caused this or that injury to such and such a person, but, wearing the seat belt has prevented more injuries than it has caused. And for those who think they are uncomfortable, I always offer to slam their head into the windshield to see how that feels. (Monday Dec 7 | post #7)
NPR asks political reporter Liasson to reconsider Fox News work...
NPR calling Fox news biased is the kettle calling the pot black. The reason NPR, and others, don't see them as biased is because they agree with their bias. People who agree with Fox don't see them as biased, either. Both are biased. And, not surprisingly, 99% of all news out there is biased. That's the real reason newspapers are failing. They are showing their bias too much. If a paper leans left, conservatives cancel the subscription. Same is true for right leaning papers. I would like to return to the days when reporters reported the facts, and kept their opinions out of it. Leave the political commentary where it belongs, in the opinions sections. Authorities release name of parolee shot after Hastings chase
I may be an **** for making the comment, but you have totally missed the concept of sarcasm. Maybe it would help if you go back and read the comment I was replying to? I may be an idiot, but I recognize tounge in cheek when see it. (Friday Dec 4 | post #22)
Authorities release name of parolee shot after Hastings chase
Only one officer was actually trying to hit him. The rest were aiming for near misses to get the mandatory time off following a shooting. Great way to take a vacation when you have no vacation time left. (Thursday Dec 3 | post #3)
Republicans accuse Franken of playing politics with measure des...
You make it sound like this was a bill going through that banned rape. It wasn't. It had nothing to do with that. The amendment that the republicans are objecting to is just that. An amendment. The original bill has nothing to do with rape, at all. This is a case of politicians attaching something to another piece of legislation to improve it's chances of passing. I agree with Franken on this, though. Arbitration should not be mandatory for issues involving sexual assault, or harassment. However, the amendment, as written, forbids the government from doing business with any company that uses arbitration for any reason. For people like you, who are so narrowly focused, let me point out that, unions use arbitration daily. This bill, if passed, makes it illegal for the government to use and business where the employees are in a union. This is what happens when you don't take the time to craft the wording of documents carefully enough. This amendment was thrown in, and now, democrats are trying to call republicans pro-rape, while hiding their blatant attempts to bust unions. And here I thought the democrats were for the working man. (Wednesday Dec 2 | post #22)

ABC gets complaints about Adam Lambert's suggestive performance...
I feel the same way about Madonna and Britney as I do about Lambert. Insecure people looking for a way to draw attention to themselves, and to receive reassurance from the public that we like them. At the time of the Britney/Madonna flap, Madonna was trying to improve her image after her break up with Guy Ritchie. And, Madonna has always been a media **** . Britneys career was in the tank, and she was suffering from some huge public disgraces. Their kiss was designed to thrust them into the limelight in a method of their choosing. Same with Lambert. His actions had less to do with his sexuality and more to do with the old proverb, "Any publicity is good publicity." However, these stars need to look at history. Timberlake/Jackson was done for the publicity. Failed. They only received bad publicity. Madonna/Spears was done for publicity. Failed. Most reactions were unfavorable. Lambert was done for publicity. Failed. Most reactions are negative. Think about it like this. Would you be a fan of Adam Lambert if he hadn't been televised on AI? What if AI had been a radio program? There is no way he would have gotten as far as he did, if people had to judge him on his music alone. It's the same for 90% of musicians today. Instead of making it purely on the quality of their music, they rely on the whole package. And for those who doubt me, remember, in the mid 70's, Yoko Ono sold record because there were some who thought she had a good voice. A few fans does not a superstar make. (Sunday Nov 29 | post #176)
ND high court hears appeal in murder of Moorhead man
Hey....I have a novel idea...... Don't stab anyone, and then you won't have to attempt to have your murder conviction reversed. Think of all the hassles he could have saved himself, if he just refrained from killing someone. Also, I bet the victim wouldn't have minded if he hadn't been killed. (Nov 25, 2009 | post #1)
ABC gets complaints about Adam Lambert's suggestive performance...
I wasn't offended at all. But, these types of things don't offend me,because I don't watch them. Award shows are idiotic anyway. They are just an excuse for a bunch of spoiled brats to get their faces on tv more. If Adam is gay and want's to kiss other men, fine. I really have no problem with it. But, sexuality should be a private matter. If someone is gay or heterosexual, fine. But, why do people feel the need to shout to the world what they are? It's insecurity. Gays who thrust their sexuality in out faces do so in the hopes we will eventually accept them as normal. Well, I already think they are normal. So do a lot of people. Yes, some are opposed to homosexuality. But, who cares what they think? You can't please everyone all the time, so don't try. And, heterosexuals who scream loudly how "straight " they are, (I'm looking at you, Tom Cruise", usually have doubts about themselves. Or, they fear others perceiving them as gay. Well, so what? Have a little self confidence, and stop caring so much what others think about you. If you like yourself, and are happy, the rest can go take a long walk off a short pier. (Nov 24, 2009 | post #77)
Arkansas cop uses Taser on unruly 10-year-old after mom gives OK
The police officer did NOT taze the 10 year old. He used a technique called a Drive Stun. There is a HUGE difference between the two. To demonstrate the difference, if tazing someone was a bee sting, a drive stun is no more than a mosquito bite. On a full size adult, a drive stun wont even knock you down. As soon as the charge is off, the pain is gone. Had the officer actually tazed the child, he would deserve to go to jail. However, after being kicked in the groin, he was justified using the drive stun. This was more than a temper tantrum. This was a person who was becoming violent, and needed to be stopped before she hurt someone else, or herself. (Nov 18, 2009 | post #41)
