Fatal hit and run in Township of Franklin in Portage County, 47...
I'm still very interested to know what's going on with the driver of the truck. I haven't seen any follow up stories to this? (Oct 12, 2009 | post #88)
Fatal hit and run in Township of Franklin in Portage County, 47...
Wow! Does retarded grown on trees around here, or what! First of all, if Sandy were to see you people dragging names through the mud and playing the blame game, she'd DIE AGAIN FROM UTTER EMBARRASSMENT. Are you people serious? You know who's at fault here? The DRUNK DRIVER WHO HIT HER. Not Carl, or Gary, or Gene, or whatever you call him at the moment. Had she been walking to Walmart for a bag of chips you idiots would be blaming Walmart and the potato chip manufacturer. When we lose people special to us, it's only natural to be angry about the unprecedented loss, but don't go lashing out at anything you can get a grip on. Her husband is mourning as well and he blames himself enough, I'm sure. Sandy was walking, FACING traffic, off the side of the road enough that the officer that passed her didn't think she was in any immediate danger. In layman's terms, the person who hit her HAD TO HAVE SWERVED to do so. My condolences to the family, and the friend's who have lost such an amazing person in their lives, hold tight to the memories you've created and know that she will always be with you in spirit. Akron Petland Shut Down: Photo of Employee Holding Up 2 Drowned...
The unfortunate part here, is that everyone is focusing on the girl that drowned two maimed rabbits... Not the fact that this has been the practice on how to deal with "unfit" animals in their care. Or even that animals get maimed in the store's "care" or lack there of... (Sep 1, 2009 | post #21)

I think it's unfortunate that this poor woman still hasn't been identified. It's also unusual for a person to commit suicide without a note, or in this case, with out identification on them. I also find it sad that your conclusions are suicide off the bat. She could have been thrown over for all you know. (Jun 9, 2009 | post #5)
Is Ebonics or "Black English" a language?
Generally, (especially in public school environments) any child who has potential and is excelling above their peer's is made fun of for it. And as far a trying to "act better," what's wrong with wanting to better yourself and your position in life. I've heard that before. "Trying to act better..." When I hear this as a criticism it's sad. If one lives in a poverty stricken area that is generally unsafe, surrounded by crime, and uneducated people, I would think that trying to be better and do better for oneself would not be a bad thing. Actually, my standard 40 pays my bills. And offers great health benefits. I am very lucky in this. I lost the love of my life in Iraq a few years ago, and had to be hospitalized because I got very sick after that. I didn't have health care at the time, so I had to work my butt off to pay those debts. Now I want to buy a house. And the faster I accumulate funds, the sooner I will be able to take advantage of this market. Eventually, I fear the hours will catch up with me, I'm almost 30, lol! But in a pinch, I always have to pay my bills, and no job is beneath someone when it comes to taking care of themselves. I told myself it was temporary, and it was. Found a great job, but I decided to work extra jobs to help pay off bills faster. Now I'm saving, saving, saving... Nothing is promised to us. I've had to learn the hard way that hard work pays off. I've been at the bottom. I understand the mentality. But it's not for me. I had to make serious changes and grow up to work my way out of what I had gotten myself into. I also feel a positive attitude can take you MILES, but that's for another thread, I'm sure. (Mar 19, 2009 | post #94)

Nothing, that's the problem. We are stuck in a rut, continuously having to choose between the lesser of two evils, and too many people believe that it's out of our control to change things for the better, when in fact we, the people, are the only ones who can make the changes necessary to an environment conducive to everyone's benefit. Too many takers, and not enough givers. (Mar 18, 2009 | post #99)
Ohio gas prices dropping to $1.84 a gallon, lower in Cleveland,...
It's ok, Scootie. Tomorrow they'll be 1.64 and two days later back to $4 a gallon... Up, down, up, down. Someone's sitting back and making a mockery of jerking us off. Literally. (Mar 18, 2009 | post #4)

Um, it's been 1.79 in Akron. This is as much news as the fact that I wiped front to back this morning. (Mar 18, 2009 | post #2)
