I would be more easily convinced, but again the evidence offered is woefully inadequate. None of the authors presented knew christ personally and most were writing at least a full generation after the crucifixion, total hearsay. Sorry, you are the one being ignorant here. The conservation of energy is a well established LAW of physics. Batteries store energy in chemical bonds, when the bonds are depleted, so is the stored energy, but none of it has been created or destroyed, merely stored, then transformed. Imperfect systems lose energy by generating work that we don't want. Heat is the most common example. But again, no energy is created nor destroyed, it is merely transformed from one kind of energy to another. (40 min ago | post #2630)

Mainly Hitler comes up whenever a Christian suggests or even insists that you have to be a Christian in order to be a decent person. These Christians often go further to say that if you are not a Christian you are necessarily evil and vile. To my mind, these suggestions immediately call to mind Hitler, Vlad the Impaler and the Butcher of Hypatia .... all devout Christians. (1 hr ago | post #7192)

You underestimate the creativity of the citizens and the criminals. A bulldozer can be converted to a "Tank" relatively easily. You are also making the very erroneous assumption that everyone lives in your circumstances. Neither cops nor criminals have been to my place and I think the primary reason is they don't know how to find it. I frequently have to give directions to the UPS man. If an alarm went off at my house, I bet the response time would be a lot longer than it is to your house. Bears do find my house on a regular basis. I have lived in other circumstances where riots were more common as were home invasions. My point here is that perhaps gun control is advisable in very restricted situations, but to pass gun control legislation that we all have to live by nationally because of your circumstances is very short sighted at best.
