I thought the article was hilarious and insightful, as Bronson's interviews always are. I have no idea why so many people are getting bent out of shape over a few off-the-cuff comments. (Thursday Oct 22 | post #1)

Her mother? Can't she speak for herself at this point in her life? The whole American South is stuck in 1955. (Friday Oct 16 | post #3)
I hate it when women bring boys into the womens bathroom. They don't care about the rights of the other women to not have that sacred space invaded by maleness. I can understand a small preschooler, but more and more I'm seeing boys over age six and that is just way too old. Do like the moms in this thread do and stand outside the mens room door while the kid goes! (Wednesday Oct 14 | post #56)

SCAM ALERT GREEN DOT DEBIT CARDS
I've had my current Green Dot card since 2007 and had only one problem with a site declining the card, but it turned out to be due to an error in the site's credit card processor's computer. Anyway, my card is due to expire at the end of the month. I have money in the account and have made purchases within the last 30 days. Is Green Dot supposed to send me a new card with the same account number, or will I end up having to buy a new card and somehow transfer my money from one account to the other? If they're going to enforce distracted driving laws, it should be on a case-by-case basis, not because of the age of the driver. (Jul 10, 2009 | post #55)
Wikipedia has become very restrictive in what non-members and even regular members can do. What happened to the free-for-all spirit of the days of yore? Now you have to prove that you have "permission " to upload a picture via creative commons and if you try the regular upload, you have to be an elevated member of some kind. (Feb 19, 2009 | post #3)
Perfect Stranger Is No Perfect Neighbor
Bronson, those of us who appreciate history understand the need for preservation and the role that heritage deeds play in that. Thank you for taking a stand for the right thing, though it may be unpopular at the time. Respect for the stipulations left in the deeds by the land donors must be universally followed. It was their land and the heritage deed is like their last will and testament. You are sending the message that these heritage deeds must be universally, not selectively respected. Do not be troubled by the unintelligent and ignorant people who will see it only as you "taking their land" or "ripping up" the community. Those who are knowledgeable and intelligent will understand and support you in your historical preservation endeavors. Keep up the good fight! (Feb 4, 2009 | post #12)

Perfect Stranger Is No Perfect Neighbor
Sorry to disappoint you, but in the USA and online, everyone is entitled to express their opinion, no matter where they live. I didn't read about any complaints from the residents of Harford when Mr. Pinchot was ponying up the door to fix up the post office or the house that had been gutted by fire 20 years prior. Blatant misreporting. The gazebo was installed in 1994, not 1940. The original land owner, Mr. George Pritchard included a deed restriction on anything being built on the piece of land, which the Historical Society violated. Bronson wanted to honor the original land owner's wish, and yet is portrayed as the bad guy. Right... (Feb 1, 2009 | post #1)
Sixty-eight year old monument? Hardly. The gazebo was built and installed on the plot of land by the Harford Historical Society in 1994. George Pritchard, who donated the land to the Historical Society in 1941, stipulated in a heritage deed that nothing was to be built on the land, or it would revert to the deed holder, who happens to be Bronson Pinchot. Every one of the articles tries to paint Mr. Pinchot as some kind of tyrant who is ripping out an ancient landmark in some poor little village, while it is actually quite the opposite.
