LCPS school bond headed to polls
You folks who own property are already taxed for running the schools. All a bond issue is .... wait for it ..... it a TAX INCREASE. Why not force the school district to live within their means and show some fiscal discipline and fiscal restraint? My feeling is that unless you OWN PROPERTY, then you should not be allowed to vote in bond election. People who do not own property do not have a horse in the race. People who do not own property should not be able to vote to raise taxes on others. (Monday Nov 23 | post #14)

You are correct. The original press release from the county said they were "illegally tapped into El Paso Electric's grid". I made a bad assumption based on the press release. Upon clarification, they were tapped in after the meter, but using inferior extension cords and not following code. The deaths were caused by someone not following the electrical code as adopted by the county. Charges should be pending nonetheless. (Saturday Nov 21 | post #9)

Wake up people .... just another waste of your tax dollars. So 100 people ride the bus every day. Assuming they make the round trip. The income is only $600 I bet the salary only for the drivers exceeds that. You can bet that the cost of fuel, wear and tear are not covered. JUST ANOTHER FRICKIN' HANDOUT. REDISTRIBUTION OF WEALTH. Just say no to the bonds. Cut unnecessary expenses. Like the over expensive new high school. Take another look and determine why a school needs to be a monument costing over $100-million Cut sports and extracurricular activities Increase spending on academics. Until we can increase our graduation rate, then no more money for the district. Take the needed funds from programs that do not make our kids smarter. (Saturday Nov 21 | post #1)
