NBA's luxury might force the Orlando Magic to part ways w...

Is anyone puzzled why this story was written before the playoffs?? The Magic don't need distractions before the playoffs. With that said, We will do a sign and trade for either Hedo or Gortat. We won't be able to keep both. We will dump Lue, and get rid of anthony Johnson as well. Battie may be traded so that we can keep Hedo and Gortat. but not likely  (Apr 10, 2009 | post #93)

Good for you. Fortunatly for the rest of society we do enjoy watching diverse sports. We should not look at color, God sees your heart not your skin. Something to think about when spewing hate. You are welcome to watch what ever you want, but you are a minority. The average american, white, black or whatever, enjoys the diversity that this country has. So although you may be part of the majority race in this country, your thinking puts you in a minute class. Minute.. hmm that would quantify your thinking.  (Aug 20, 2008 | post #8)

Orlando Magic waive James Augustine

You have said some ignorant things in here, but I think this is one of the few post that you have been yourself. Unfortunatly you appear misguided. To say that no one has been through or worked harder than you is borderline narcisistic. Every man's plight is different. I can assure you that you are not the only college graduate, Marine, father or husband. If those are the roles that you have, kudos. but don't discount others that have their own experiences in life.  (Aug 7, 2008 | post #162)

I get that you feel that you are funny or that you spout this foolishness to push peoples buttons. I just think that you don't know when too much is too much. I pray for you and hope you realize that words are powerful.  (Aug 7, 2008 | post #161)

Arroyo to play in Israel?

Arroyo was not that bad, but he was not the part to compliment what the Magic are doing. he will make much more money than he could here. It's sad that race has to be an issue. Good luck Arroyo. Good job to Otis in not resigning him.  (Aug 3, 2008 | post #20)

Nets GM says he's 'hopeful' trade for Magic's Keyon Dooli...

This is not logical. It's no secret we overpaid for Rashard, but 95 % of the NBA is overpaid. You give me any team and I will show you a player who is overpaid. Rashard compliments the team, and that is invaluable. Rashard's ability to play the 4 spot creates match up nightmares. (see Shawn Marion when he was with Phoenix) We have a great nucleus and the potential to make it to the Finals.  (Jul 23, 2008 | post #91)

Bogans for Crittenden straight up no draft picks. at most a 2nd rounder. If not then we move on and wait until something comes up. Mo evans is going to sign with Golden state. Here is an article about Javaris and his being the odd man out in Memphis http://www.commerc ialappeal.com/news /2008/jul/22/five- is-a-crowd/  (Jul 23, 2008 | post #181)

If Otis is patient and holds on to this exception until the trade deadline, we could potentially get a key piece for the playoffs. Teams will have an idea if they have chances of making the playoffs. If there is a team that is not likely to be playoff bound, they may be willing to part with players.  (Jul 20, 2008 | post #24)

Traded Player Exception: If a team trades away a player with a higher salary than the player they acquire in return (we'll call this initial deal "Trade #1"), they receive what is called a Traded Player Exception, also known colloquially as a "Trade Exception". Teams with a trade exception have up to a year in which they can acquire more salary in other trades (Trade #2, #3, etc) than they send away, as long as the gulf in salaries for Trade #2, #3, etc are less than or equal to the difference in salary for Trade #1. This exception is particularly useful when teams trade draft picks straight-up for a player; since draft picks have no salary value, often the only way to get salaries to match is to use a trade exception, which allows trades to be made despite unbalanced salaries. It is also useful to compensate teams for losing free agents as they can do a sign and trade of that free agent to acquire a trade exception that can be used later. Note this exception is for single player trades only, though additional cash and draft picks can be part of the trade.  (Jul 19, 2008 | post #160)
