What does the Bible say about..... Lobster?
A. The base of any religion is the belief in a higher power. B. Your God, your rules, you go to hell. I'm Pagan. C. Genesis 9:2-4 “All the animals, birds, and fish will live in fear of you. They are all placed under your power. Now you can eat them, as well as green plants; I give them all to you for food. The one thing you must not eat is meat with blood still in it; I forbid this because the life is in the blood.” D. Sorry, I meant response...backed up by the very book you got YOUR argument from. E. If my brother in law saw that statement he would laugh. My point was that the Bible has bits and pieces from many religions, and things got changed and the story deviates and contradicts itself alot. There are 3 places in the Bible, that I am aware of, about what we can eat, and they don't match up. (May 27, 2012 | post #37)

1, I'm not here to have a circumcised pissing contest with you. I said the BASE of all religions are the same, not the practice or local traditions. My sister married a Jew...I've visited Temple with them and have had long conversations about this and many other subjects. I was just pointing out how Jews still follow the written laws while Christians like to "bend" them in the Old Testament. The reason I "deviated " was to explain why so many people didn't understand if lobster was ok to eat. The Bible clearly states in the beginning we were all supposed to be vegitarians..then later some animals were ok...then later we could eat anything we wanted. What is right? You tell me all knowing one, back it up with scripture if you must...but be warned I have an answer for everyone you throw at me. Just know that the ham you serve on Easter...according to the Bible...is sending you to Hell. (May 16, 2012 | post #35)

If the Bible was "quite clear" on anything, we wouldn't be having this conversation, now would we. Twelve years of parochial school and studying the Bible everyday as a regular class is what made me aware of the discrepancies to begin with. It made me dig deeper to find truths instead of swallowing them down without question. Hardly ignorance. And if over-simplificatio n means I didn't pad everything with scripture quotes and sugar coat it like your used to...then I'm sorry. If narrow mindedness and lemming like faith are YOUR cup of tea, by all means, blindly continue. (May 16, 2012 | post #33)

Did you actually read my whole post? You are only making my point about the Bible being bits and pieces of other holy writings. My last statement in my post was, yes, in the Bible lobster is an abomination and you're not supposed to eat it...but so is pork. But then Noah and his family were told that every moving animal that is alive may serve as food for them. For any Bible quote rightously quoted...there is almost surely another quote in the same book to counter it. It comes from putting many different stories from many different religions together. Pick and choose the seafood you want to eat...somewhere it is written that it's ok. (May 15, 2012 | post #30)
Pit bulls are beautiful loving pets. I've had several and they stand out as my favorites. Most dog breeds are a human creation, bred to do a certain job. You can take a Pit and a Poodle and make a Pitoodle. Then you have 2 different gene pools of man made ideals swimming around in an animal. Niether one were bred to be a pet in the beginning. Poodles were initially bred as water/retriever dogs, and Pits have a family history of fighting full grown bulls in a pit. Bloodlust and the ability to fight and kill were good characteristic in a breeding Pit and were valued. Those characteristics remain in even the most gentle of Pits. Now that we've outlawed bloodsports we keep them as pets...and people thinking that the dogs "forgot" the instincts bred into them are kidding themselves. My dogs were gentle until something cried in pain and then they would "snap" and try to go help kill it. Not the dogs fault, it was made that way. People with no idea about the power and drive of these animals have no business having them as pets if they don't train or supervise them. Any dog that isn't taught to listen will fall back to base instincts. The meanest dog I ever encountered was a cocker spaniel. Too bad it didn't have the size and strength of a Pit or we'd be discussing how dangerous they are. (May 15, 2012 | post #76)

The Tanakh is what they (Christians) took from the Torah. Not the whole book. They took only the parts that enforced their beliefs from the Torah just like all the other religions they "borrowed " from. Good thing they couldn't pin witchcraft or Paganism on the Jews like they did everyone else or we wouldn't even know about the Torah or it would have been discovered as a "lost scroll". My point it that I can't stand people using quotes from the Bible to make an argument and to make themselves look "better" then someone. It's the beginning for every major religion based war there has ever been. The "they" I was referring to were the people (men...since women are only "companions ") that pick and chose what they wanted in the Bible. Weren't the other teachings good enough? Or was it that some of Gods words didn't "fit" in their ideal? Yes, lobster is an abomination and you're not supposed to eat it...but so is pork. But then Noah and his family were told that every moving animal that is alive may serve as food for them. So again...pick and choose. (May 15, 2012 | post #28)

Crack open some even dustier and older books than the Bible. You may find alot of stories that sound familiar but the names are different. So they stole the entire Torah and edited it. They also, as above mentioned...took stories from many older religions, renamed the characters, and tweeked them a bit to fit the lesson they were trying to convey. THEN to cover all that up...they made all other religions blasphemous and murdered innocent people that didn't see things the way they did, and destroyed any writings from those religions, making up stories of ungodly people and evil Pagans, making theirs the ONLY one who could have possibly been godly enough to have any such teachings. That's why so many scrolls and other writings from our human history are missing or hidden away. Christian cleansing. (May 14, 2012 | post #24)

Sorry...they cut the 613 commandments from the Torah down to 10. =) (May 14, 2012 | post #21)

God made laws for us to live by. (or maybe it was just wise humans?) God didn't write the bible, man did, and they've twisted it for their own purposes since it was first written. To witness something and how they interpret it later is sometimes very different. All Christian holidays are on PAGAN holidays or are associated around the same time. Many traditions, symbols, and beliefs were stolen from other religions that predate Christianity or even Judism. The Bible stole alot from the Torah, and cut the many commandments issued by God down to 1. It's kind of like the Bible is the CliffNotes of the Torah. In all religions there are simalarities, regional beliefs "seasoning " and adding to holy books down through the ages, making them different, but mostly with the same base beliefs. if I can't get weed I will do pills
As humans we all desire a "drug" of some sort. For some it's chocolate, others it's a cigarette or pot, some people jog, drink alcohol, overeat, masterbate alot and or have alot of sex, troll forums, or just drink too much caffeine. All these things change your mood, enhance your life, and release "feel good" chemicals into your body. Anything to help "wind down" after a hard day. But some people don't know when to stop and abuse them, and others pick up habits so terrible (pills, meth, ect.) that don't enhance the quality of life and drag them down to an inhuman state. I think if you work everyday, support and love your family, are good to your community, and don't hurt a soul except the self rightous people pissed because everyone's having fun but them...then you should be allowed to smoke a joint or drink a beer because you earned it, and it's nobody elses damn business anyway. (May 12, 2012 | post #23)
my boyfriend is driving me crazy
Does he drink or smoke? After so many years of drinking and or smoking his circulatory system just won't send (or keep) the blood there anymore. Try a cock ring when he's really hard to "keep" it hard till you're done, then remove it to finish him. If he doesn't drink or smoke and all physical problems have been ruled out...then it may be emotional...he's just not telling you what's bothering him. (May 12, 2012 | post #133)
if I can't get weed I will do pills
Pills, if not prescribed to you for a legitimate reason...are for losers. If you think trading pot for pills is an equal exchange, you are kidding yourself and endangering your life, and the person trying to sell those to you is a fool trying to get you addicted to keep you coming back. Wait on the weed. Pillheads will lie, cheat, steal, and do things most self respecting people wouldn't dream of doing for a pill...they chase people down if they see them with a cast or a hospital bracelet to see "if they gave them anything good", and are a total waste of air. Wanting a joint is totally different from needing a pill. It won't kill you to do without the weed...but it will if you need that pill. (May 11, 2012 | post #16)
Thank God alcohol is legal! (insert sarcasm here) And cheap. And I know that they will never outlaw it because too many people that make the laws are drunks. =) Pot needs to be legalized, and not grouped with meth, crack ect. Alcohol and cigarettes are more along those hard addicting drug lines, not marijuana. Oh! And people that take pills not prescribed to them should be put on an island so they can annoy each other. Pill heads are the worst. (May 10, 2012 | post #61)

You said he does work alot...so you already know the reason. Have a heart. Quality is better then quantity and if you truly love him it will be worth waiting out the "downtime ". (May 9, 2012 | post #118)
Does that mean you're following them at night watching them eat peoples garbage? Or are you mad because they beat you to the best bits? (May 9, 2012 | post #2)
