I will never forget that there were black families living in the house at the corner of Buckman and Hancock St and on the side of Saint Anthony's school, and when I was little, remembering there was a lot of arguments, fights, threats, rocks thrown, toward the black families to get out of Everett. At one point even saw a mother of one of the families comming out and crying to leave them alone, As soon as the police came the teens who started this ran away. At one point someone threw a liquar botte that was on fire toward the house on Buckman St. I will never forget the yelling that went on when that smashed the window into the house, luckily the family smotherd the small fire. I also remember a lot of white people yelling at the white kids, who were threatning the black families,to stop threating and berating the black families. I think that was the breaking point between the whites and the small amount of blacks in Everett. This was about the early 70's (Wednesday Dec 2 | post #72)

J fatal this is what your life will be like if you dont study, work hard and invest your money. You could end up like many of these misreable people on Topix, full of hatred and blaming their problems on others, or you could be living in another state like a looser perusing and critizing posts and their punctuation like a coward behind a computer. This is what you could become if you do not study ,work hard and invest your money. Remember the world will be full of hatred, jealousy and rancour. Actually you might be right about Davis and Union Square, Porter may be in Cambridge, but I know for a fact that Holiday Inn has its bar open until 2 am and there is a bar/Euthopian Rest on Broadway called Fasika open til 2am. (Tuesday Dec 1 | post #66)

ithinknot The areas open til 2 am are many clubs on Route 1 Saugus, Davis, Porter, Union Squares in Somerville, Malden has O'Neils and Boston all over is open until 2 am, including East Boston at the Hub Pub and Javelli's. (Monday Nov 30 | post #63)

Well I am happy that we have shooters in Everett. I applaud the owners who have opened up a clean, respectful neighborhood establishment that has a dance floor, biliards, kitchen and bar. The prices of beer is resonable, the food is good, they take care of their regulars during the holidays,there are a lot of tvs to watch, there are tables that suit a party of 2 to a party of 10 and more. I enjoy meeting classmates from preschool to the new people living in Everett. As to 8/10 as well, the food is excellant, they have good live entertainment, the set up is small and cosy, easy to meet people and its a good meeting place with friends. I am sure if both establishments were to be open until 2 am, like in Boston, Somerville, Cambridge there would be no problem. I know the owners of both establishments and they are awsome.
