I dont think this is a case of the White Man keeping the Black Man down. This is a choice of lifestyle, albeit unhealthy and unsightly and possibly a lack of pride with a large dose laziness. Color does not factor into this at all...on either side. (Jul 24, 2008 | post #41)
Well, now that summer is in full swing this little stretch of blight is bustling with activity. I see someone is building a nice house right in the middle of all that trash. I would suggest that everyone take a quick ride out to see it because it won’t be visible in a few months. It will be covered by old lawnmowers, abandoned cars and general filth. Remember the first house on the left that caught fire? It looks like all the repairs have been made and it is now inhabitable. It is totally amazing what a few scraps of particle board and old paint can do! How about selling all the old cars and junk for scrap? Geez, there must be 50 abandoned cars in that half mile strip! Four buildings to be demolished in Wright City
What a wonderful story! It's hard to imagine all that now. It seems that area has fallen into unimaginable squalor and filth. Wouldn't it be nice if Wright City could once again become the edge of town (St Louis) where artist, young and old, could come at display their craft? According to the article, we have some progress about to start. I'd like to see more old and run down buildings removed and maybe a reputable road house installed. I'd like to see Big Boys razed, and the Elvis museum demolished. Oh, and can someone please replace the missing letters at that nearly empty strip mall across the street from Economy? In the mean time, I’d like to hear more about those long forgotten days of Wright City. Please write more! (May 4, 2008 | post #2)

City of Foristell's claim that they are not a speed trap is a crock
Not to generalize. I’ve been involved in the law enforcement career in a few different capacities and what I have found is this: in too many instances the bullies you new as a child grow up to be cops. Now, there are way more officers that are not; however, most of the small town cops are ones that could not make the big city force. These people can be divided into two groups. One is the nerdy, overweight guy that played army or video games way too much as a kid and was never accepted into the "cool" kids group. So, as they get older and want be tough guys with power, they become small town cops. The good ones eventually move to a larger force and do well. The ones mentioned above, stay there until their maladjusted character gets them in trouble and they are back to the fast food joint. Take a look at these guys next time you see them out of their cars! And if you get to talk to one you’ll find that they have a chip on their shoulder and really get off on playing the big shot. On off-duty time you'll find them driving old police cars that have been decommissioned, listening to their police scanners, playing video games oriented towards cops and robbers, playing Dungeons and Dragons, and wearing their badge everywhere they go. Nudist Camp Approved In Franklin County

sunne1, I've seen the signs for the election...how can we find out more regarding the candidates? (Mar 16, 2008 | post #25)
I'm surprised this thread doesn't get more attention. No one, and I mean NO ONE, that lives in Warren, St Charles, or Lincoln County has NOT heard of, or driven through that mess on "J". It can be summed with the marriage of two words: country and ghetto...CONGHRETT O. (Mar 15, 2008 | post #21)
General Motors' Workers In Wentzville Included In Buyout Offer
You are correct. The few bums make it rough for the rest. However, as a manager/supervisor union employees are much more difficult to deal with when it comes to reprimands, firing and disciplinary actions. I will even say that rewarding a star union employee is as difficult, if not more difficult. Union bosses don’t want anyone setting too high of a mark for fear that the bar would be too high for the not so good workers. As long as you can save the slacker (typically the person who complains the most) you justify the worth of a union. In my opinion, you are either moving up or moving out! The days of 15, 20, 30 year plus employment are over. 401ks have taken the place of retirement pay and pensions! I'm curious to see if lower annual payroll will benefit the car buyer. Overhead and operating cost have to be covered by the product or service you as a company provide. You may be right...we the consumer may never see the benefit. But it will keep the automakers in business and perhaps be more competitive with foreign automakers. As for older American cars on the road, actually, there are older foreign autos on the road. They just hold up better and never change body style so you don’t notice so much. And, no foreign automaker could ever make a truck with enough guts to pull a load of hot air! (Mar 9, 2008 | post #4)

Ever wonder why American made products are so expensive and are not as reliable as foreign made? Simple...UNIONS! How much pay do the unions deduct from each worker? And what does that get them, and us, the consumer? It forces employers to employee sub-par workers that, in the real world, would be and should be fired. But with the union’s protection, employers are forced to baby-sit these dregs! So, we the consumer, end up paying for low quality products. Now, I’m not saying all are incompetent, but I've supervised enough union employees to know that their pride does not revolve around the quality of work the put out. Typically the bad ones (and there seems to be a bunch) pride themselves on the amount of money they make for doing so little! I say it is about time the automakers get rid of the old dead weight they’ve had to carry for all these years. And another thing, why do union workers always think they are “owed” something extra? It is a privilege to work and not a right! You know the ones I’m talking about…the employees that are always getting “f***’d over” by their boss and how their going to get even. They’re the same people that don’t see that repeatedly calling in sick, taking long breaks, standing at the time clock 15 minutes before the end of the day, and all-around general malingering hurts their respective employers bottom line. Finally, being prior military, I understand obligation and following rules; especially, when it comes to drug use. I personally know several GM workers that smoke dope 24-7. How do they pass the drug test? Are the rich, drug free union people passing out clean urine? ….bottom line, follow the rules, do your job and take pride in the work you do! Don’t work 12 hours a day trying to get over on your employer and he won’t have to fire your ass. If this happened, the lazy scumbags wouldn’t need unions to keep them employed. Unfortunately the good employees at GM, Ford and Chrysler have to pay to keep those turds employed. By the way, I own a Ford and always will and support the legalization of marijuana. I just find it odd that we can make fun of WHITE rednecks but would be burned out of our homes for suggesting a reality show based on black people, Mexicans etc... As for Native Americans, unfortunately, they are treated like they have never existed. Native Americans were the last group of people allowed to vote and the last to have basic human rights extended to them by the American government. What would happen if we had a White Pride Month, or a white entertainment channel? Business for Rev. Jesse, Al Sharpton and every black rights hate monger would be good! But, white people that show pride in their race are considered white supremacists. Personally, a man is a man, a woman is a woman...it is the reverse racism that kills me! (Mar 1, 2008 | post #3)
City of Foristell's claim that they are not a speed trap is a crock
hjalj1221...no problem with the thread staying alive. It just becomes ridiculous when that guy Big Sally jumps in and starts calling people out. Truth is, I'm with you. Lets keep it alive and have a good laugh...I could write about Goober and Goomer all day long! (Feb 26, 2008 | post #54)
What would other ethnic groups do if there were reality shows based on these topics? My Ghetto prom... My Mexican job hunt... Chinese driving lessons... Doesn't it seem odd how Americans find it OK to ridicule the "redneck/hill billy" but will not touch Blacks, Mexicans or Asians? Can you imagine Rev. Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, and NAACP exploding if there were a show depicting young black kids in there hoochie dresses and pimp hats? Why does being PC go out the window for white people that live a country lifestyle? (Feb 26, 2008 | post #1)
Ah, the “camels toe.” We all know what it is, and we know someone that sports one. An oddity for sure and a criminal offense it should be. Let’s get right to it. Some may say that a bigger gal is the most common offender. I beg to differ… This atrocity is common in all sizes of women, big or small. By the way, my opinion is also shared by men AND women alike so don’t put this off as an opinion of one male. What are the causes, you may ask. I don’t think it is related to the level of promiscuity of the offender; however, it is hard to find fault with someone drawing that conclusion. (Yes, ladies, some men do think that!) Also, I will deny child rearing as a cause. I will simply blame poor fitting clothes and the lack of an available full length mirror. I will also throw blame to a stunted sense of fashion and poor judgment. (Many a camels toe are displayed in combination with super-straight leg jeans, feathered hair and those high-top black Reeboks too many folks still have in the back of their closet! The phenomenon is an odd one, and I don’t think any woman would intentionally be seen sportin’ the toe. But, as we all know, a few minutes at the county fair or Wal-Mart will suggest something different. In reflection, I believe that reluctance to have a muffin top has caused the other (there is just no excuse to have both!) For example, should a female wear low-rise pants, the crotch is usually bagged and spread tightly across the area preventing the possibility of a camels toe. But, if a woman is not wearing a low-rise pant, then the tendency is to pull ‘em up to Christmas, therefore revealing the aforementioned camel toe. A quandary to say the least! Again, it’s not attractive and my self appointed mission here is to let the female population know that, even though my wife and I do like a good laugh, the camel toe is WRONG! If you must pull your pants up to Christmas, un-tuck you blouse and show some decency, for Gods sake! In a previous posting I mentioned the “muffin top.” Obviously that struck a raw nerve or two with some gals and I expect this to generate a few more. I apologize right now for any offense I have committed here and I want to be clear that my intent is to reduce the amount of camels toe sightings in the St Louis region. Illinois, you’re on your own! Just one more comment before I close…my wife, who agrees, suggests that the camels toe may have some negative issues surrounding personal hygiene….I’m not sure what that means. When asked….I just got a look. (Feb 23, 2008 | post #1)
