You can ask CJ's mom. If you are an old friend, you should know her mom. (Nov 12, 2009 | post #4)
How do people believe they can do anything and still be a christian?
People should not gossip either, but it seems to be the foundation of Albany. I know 2 people who claim to be Christians, yet say horrible things about people. Everyone has an opinion and I have no problem with that. However, one person's opinion should not be expressed to others in an effort to turn more people against whoever that person doesn't like. If a person can't spell, a dictionary isn't going to be very useful. You have to know how to spell the word before you can find it :) (Nov 12, 2009 | post #27)
I'm not saying cheating is ok no matter what the situation, but not all cheating happens as a result of desire to wreck a family. Thankfully I've always been able to control myself, but I try to see both sides of every story. Loneliness can make a person desperate. Low self esteem added to someone making you feel special and the next thing you know, you crossed the line. It's human nature to crave and need love. Sometimes people mistake lust for love. Sometimes they just want someone to pay attention to them. There are some men and women who just don't care. There are some that are selfish and do wreck innocent lives. I'm simply saying that not every affair is due to being a home wrecker. (Nov 12, 2009 | post #22)
R THEY GOIN TO CALL SCHOOL OFF??
It's always a safe bet to keep a child home who is exhibiting signs of illness, but people can be contagious before even running a fever or showing any symptoms. There is no way to fully prevent people from getting sick. There are precautions to take, such as washing hands and covering the mouth when sneezing or coughing, to minimize the risk, but those do not 100% prevent illness. No matter how many times we wash our hands or avoid touching objects, we carry germs on us all the time. If we put our clothing, purses, wallets, etc. under a microscope, we would be completely grossed out. The swine flu is very scary, but people are really spazzing out about it. I understand the hype because it is so widespread and has caused deaths. In most cases, the flu kills elderly and those with frail immune systems. This flu is killing young, healthy people. However, some people are getting way too hysterical. Kind of reminds me of the 80's and the hysteria caused by HIV/AIDS. (Nov 10, 2009 | post #6)
how many married men in albany have cheated on their wives
You made the best decision of your life! Most guys who cheat will only continue to do it again and again and again. Cheating is an automatic end of a relationship for me. Even if he learns his lesson and never cheats again, the trust has been broken. Once trust is broken, the relationship will either 1) not last or 2) be filled with hurt, regret and fear of it happening again. (Nov 9, 2009 | post #23)
Do you know if they allow pets? What's the price range? I have a small, housebroken dog that only barks if someone is knocking at the door (she's 7 yrs old and thinks everyone is her friend) and 2 cats that do nothing but lay around all day. Thanks for the tip! I'll check it out. (Nov 9, 2009 | post #7)
Looking for house or apartment to rent
I am looking for a house or apartment to rent. I need 2-3 bedrooms. I'm looking to pay between $400-550 per month. Must allow pets. I have 2 cats and a small, housetrained dog. All are very well mannered and do not destroy anything. If an apartment, I am looking for a 1st floor unit. I am a very quiet person and am tired of the noisy condo I live in now. I would prefer that you send the address with your reply so I can check it out. If you prefer to email it instead of posting here, you can email it to brandi1977@hotmail .com with the subject pertaining to rental apartment or house (so I can spot it in my "junk" folder). Thank you. (Nov 7, 2009 | post #1)
If you want to deal with loud neighbors, dogs pooping in your yard or on your sidewalk, and complaints going unanswered, move to Polo Springs Condos. Otherwise, be smart and stay away. Several people have moved in and moved out within a few months. There are three people in my building that have told me they want to move. When we moved here, we were told that the units were pretty soundproof and that we should not hear anyone from inside. We were told the only thing we might hear is when people are outside talking. We can hear the toilet flushing and the bathtub running from the person above us. You can literally hear it running through the walls. We can hear every conversation of the tenants on each side of us and above us. The office manager is rarely home during her "posted" hours. I'm not one to complain much, but I hate it here. We are looking for another home now. (Nov 7, 2009 | post #5)
You can sit in a sitz bath or hot bath tub for relief of symptoms, but it is not going to get rid of your hemorrhoids. Start out with some over the counter treatment and see if that works. If not, go to the doctor. While you are treating them, you should avoid activities that will hinder them from healing: heavy lifting, straining during bowel movements, etc. (Nov 7, 2009 | post #12)
There is a lot of gossip that flies around Albany and it's hard to believe half of what is said. I certainly hope that what has been said about sleeping with multiple people, doing drugs, drinking and so forth is not true. I know kids will be kids, but someone has to provide guidance so irreversible mistakes are not made. How many more teenage moms do we need in this world? I know how hard it is to raise a child when you are young. I was 18 when I had my first child. I was married, but it was still hard. Pregnancy is just a tip off the iceberg. STDs are rampant in this country and remember, there is not a cure for some. Treatment is available, but it will always remain in the body to be passed on to others, to affect the carrier (and future partners) for the rest of his/her life. They can ruin the chances of having a family someday. It's a common fact that alcohol and drugs lead to an increase in the chance of rape. Rape creates emotional scars that NEVER go away. Drugs can do irreversible damage to the body. Look at the "meth heads" and you can plainly see that! While kids may claim they are not upset or hurt by words, they are. Kids are VERY impressionable...t eenagers especially. Kids are also cruel and say awful things about others. Words sting and can have a lasting impact. People really should pause to think about what they say before they say it. What you say could have a lifetime effect on someone. Just imagine if that were your daughter, son, granddaughter, best friend, etc. Would you want these things said about him/her? (Nov 6, 2009 | post #56)
Hemorrhoids are more common than you think. Usually they occur during pregnancy, but there are other reasons, too. You can try the conventional treatment of creams or suppositories. Usually that does the trick. However, sometimes they just won't go away and you have to see the doctor. Don't waste your time going to a internal medicine/family practice doctor unless your insurance company requires a referral to see a specialist. Go to a gastroenterologist for a consultation. There could be an underlying issue that is causing them, such as chronic constipation/diarrhea, slow motility, excessive weight, etc. You can even develop a fissure as a result of untreated hemorrhoids and you don't want that! (Nov 6, 2009 | post #6)
I just hope someone wakes up and helps these kids to become something before they waste away and become either another drug/AIDS statistic or ruin their lives forever. (Nov 3, 2009 | post #46)
Wow, a lot has changed since I was in school (I'm not THAT old either!). When I was in school, the most we got mad about was when "special " kids (i.e. parents are well known and/or have money)were allowed to break the school dress code by wearing shorts that barely covered their butts and others were reprimanded for being a millimeter shorter than required. Riding around town was common, but consisted of sitting somewhere and chatting with our friends. Now, middle school and high school kids are drinking (we were not innocent back then but far less than I hear now), doing drugs and sleeping with any guy with something hanging between his legs. The girls are not only to blame. It takes two! There was random fighting when I was in school, but fights were far and few between. Most of the time, fights happened after school and everyone talked about it the next day. I'm not naiive and understand times change, but I am amazed at how much different kids are! How does a problem get this big? I no longer live in Albany, and I hear a lot that I try not to pay attention to because people talk a lot of nonsense, but geez!!! Kids will be kids, but someone HAS to step up and take charge. Albany is already well known for gossip and meth. Pretty bad reputation! (Nov 3, 2009 | post #45)
