New Lenox township road commish verbal abuse

I have had several bad experiences with the hwy commissioner. He refuses to even speak to myself or my neighbors regarding the massive flooding on our property due to an illegal drainage system put in before he was with the township. Had his lawyer contact us and stated that not only do they refuse to fix it, but we can't legally do so either. I feel your pain regarding this official. Problem is, he has NO boss. There is no one to complain to. We have tried. Will County does have an entire log of complaints against him though. People try to call the county for their issues to get around New Lenox. That doesn't work though. County doesn't have a works department able to address the issues. Good luck.  (Feb 24, 2014 | post #25)

This is a judgmental post. Perhaps you need to reread the Good Book and see your own faults. Use your own experience "that the most vocal critics are usually the ones with the most to hide..." and apply that to this critical post.  (Nov 10, 2013 | post #2)

Does anyone know when the Road Commissioner comes up for re-election?  (Nov 10, 2013 | post #1)

NLPD looks huge

Out of curiosity, who do you believe is paying for this? I am curious how you assume municipal buildings are funded. And why would a tax payer NOT be concerned about staffing and maintenance? Or do you believe tax monies don't pay for that either? The location does not concern me, as the location of the current station does not concern me either. There aren't any major criminals occupying the New Lenox police station. Nor do I believe there will be in the future.  (Sep 27, 2013 | post #12)

Digging under way for new digs for New Lenox police

I assume because the entrance and exit is on Haven, not Veterans Pkwy.  (Sep 24, 2013 | post #6)

I don't understand why they couldn't use space in the new (almost completely empty) village building. Complete waste of taxpayer money. And what about the expense of running and maintaining this new facility? How many new employees will this place have to salary? Have yet to meet one resident who supports this expenditure.  (Sep 24, 2013 | post #4)

122 Doesn't want parents in the schools

Sadly, times are different now. Visitation poses a real threat to students. I wish it weren't that way, but it is. I think the expense of security protocol wastes resources that the school could better spend on actual education.  (Aug 25, 2013 | post #71)

Actually, I am as far from a liberal as you can get. Liberals support parental school visits. Get your politics right.  (Aug 23, 2013 | post #30)

Okay. Not sure why the response was so defensive. It is weird to me because I have never heard of it before. It never existed when we were kids. I don't think a school should allow this type of visitation during school hours when other children are there. It is unsafe and a distraction to a child's social development. Does this view make me a parent with a lack of involvement in my child's life? In your opinion, apparently. In mine, allowing my children to develop social skills and responsibility are key to their development. I don't think the school system works "for us." I think their decisions should be made in the best interest of the child, not the parent. I think educational staff need to work in conjunction with families to do what is best. Allowing parents to circumvent a child's social development isn't good for a kid.....in my opinion, of course.  (Aug 23, 2013 | post #12)

The idea of a parent having lunch with their child at school is weird to me.  (Aug 23, 2013 | post #5)

Fact or Fiction

Looks as if our government is winning. Big government has us all fighting among ourselves and ignoring the decay of liberty. Why attack each other personally on an anonymous forum? I myself have done it as well. Defeats the whole idea of public discourse. Imagine the power of a site like this is people stuck to facts? I believe we wouldn't be in the current state we are in. This America is divisive and violent. Not at all what past generations could have ever imagined.  (Aug 8, 2013 | post #46)
