There was a time where eye-witnesses were considered extremely credible. Also, blood analysis wasn't what it is today; a matching blood type was practically considered irrefutable proof of guilt. So, how did Bain's wrongful conviction come about because of race? Mistaken identity does not equate to witchhunt.  (Friday | post #30)

No amount of money is compensation enough for losing 3 decades of your life...especially when those 3 decades spanned over prime years. And not all of the exonerated receive a settlement. They have to prove gross negligence and/or malicious prosecution, and I don't know if that's the case here. The legal system isn't error-proof and sometimes innocent people ARE convicted. There has to be more to the article in the Hoyd school paper than just encouraging interracial relations. Because if that was it, I don't understand how promoting love is racist. The article isn't clear whether current Deeds contain the ban language, or whether it's just the historical Deeds. I get the impression it's the historical ones....In which case, people would be surprised how many Deeds actually contain similar language. I don’t recall any particular poster named Phil, but I’m not keeping tabs so I may have missed it. From I get from the comments, though, Stormfront is some pro-white site, right? Not interested, so again…I don’t know what you’re talking about when those comments are directed towards me. If it’s because you just want to put your message out, then stop including my posts in yoursIt would definitely be a benefit to the forum if all the racially divisive comments disappeared. Your “clarification” included a challenge…which had nothing to do with my response. Hence the question of why you direct those comments to my postThis reads as if your mind is made up, and any counter just gives justification for bigotry. Sounds like the trolls you wish would leave the forum. And do not misunderstand--it is bigotry to feel stereotypical generalizations are sufficient to dismiss a whole race. Again, sounds like those trolls with the throwing around of ‘you’ this and ‘blacks’ that. I cannot speak for anyone other than myself, but let me explain why I feel a white might seek to create topical conversation with a non-white: insight into a different cultural perspective. Insight leads to understanding, no? And if we don’t listen to one another but simply talk at each other, what peace can be found? This isn’t about teaching anyone anything other than maybe developing how you react to someone’s claims. Or how about someone who might truly not obsess over race? How about believing in what impacts one group impacts us all? Why purposely limit yourself by segregating? I know it’s hard to ignore crude slurs, but fostering REAL conversation rather than encouraging a continuous b v. w argument that will forever go ‘round and ‘round gets you so much further in the end. Negative posters that use slurs are looking for a reaction and the answer is simple: don’t give it to them and move on.  (Saturday Dec 5 | post #226)
