GOP leaders doubt stimulus bill will pass Senate
Fork the tax cuts. What good is a tax cut to all the millions of people who don't pay taxes because they don't have a job ? What we need is a chunk of money sent directly to each state to fund all the public works projects that are unfunded but ready to go. Obama is right. In these desperate times, we need to pay American workers to produce. For too long, our imports have far exceeded our exports. Greedy U.S. companies have moved overseas in order to increase their profits and to avoid American labor laws which require the payment of a minimum wage, that provide a safe working environment, and outlaw child labor. Absolutely, yes ! Claire McCaskill is right. Any executives (including the banks) who have managed their company so poorly that they need a federal bailout in order to survive, should be on an austerity budget, not paying out billion dollar bonuses to the very people who bankrupted the company. If the voters weren't happy with Roosevelt, they had an opportunity to elect somebody else. The voters chose to re-elect him in 1936, 1940, and again in 1944. So, that right there puts the lie to everything in your silly article. And, 65 years after his death, Roosevelt is still considered one of our greatest presidents.
